نجا راعي أبرشية بعلبك - دير الاحمر المطران سمعان عطالله ليل السبت من محاولة خطف على طريق ايعات في البقاع.
وفي التفاصيل، كما رواها عطالله وبحسب الوكالة الوطنية للاعلام ، أن سيارتين رباعيتي الدفع مجهولتي باقي المواصفات، لاحقتا سيارته وهو بداخلها مع سائقه، ثم حاولتا اعتراضه، لكن السائق تابع سيره ولدى الاقتراب من حاجز للجيش، فر المطاردون إلى جهة مجهولة.
ولدى وصول الخبر إلى دير الأحمر، عمد أهاليها إلى قرع أجراء الكنائس احتجاجا على محاولة خطف عطالله الذي وصل إلى المطرانية في بعلبك وهو بصحة جيدة.

Whoever attempted this crime, Lebanese forces, or interested individuals, must find the perp. and hang him by his beard. I would also consider identifying his family for future consideration.
