Rest assured, the Christians are here to stay, ask the Turk occupiers who were here before, they said and did the same thing. You seem to forget that even if we travel abroad, we always come back. If you are counting your bets with the influx of Syrian refugees to buffer the Palestinians, then your mistake is as big as your dreams. Christians, Shiites, Druze and Sunnis are here to stay, and please drop that demographic thinking. This is one of those humongus mistakes that started the war in Syria. Majorities in numbers don't count for much these days, please, just drop this sectarian thinking, it's repiudable to say the least.

I'm actually surprised at your statement cedre. I thought you were someone who keeps reminding us that facts matter more than predictions. Regional balance? What is that exactly? Sunnis in the region have always been a majority, no? So what has changed exactly? Thing of the past, why is that? I agree with you on one thing, the past is gone and all that was mentioned by Phil applies to all religions these days ie education entrepreneurship etc... The mentality and patriotism is the only differing factor. Lebanon is unique for its diversity but also cursed by it.

FD you make some valid points and respect you were civil about it. We will agree to disagree I think on some of the issues as I noted your ommission of Iran and Syria yet only included USA ksa Israel. I personally regard all the above as a threat however pointed out that Syria and Iran in current circumstances. And BTW lebanon is not the whole world. My point all along is we are too small to hold real international weight that is why it is critical that we unite and at least dictate diplomacy as much as we can on our terms. The reverse is military aggression that we clearly cannot win and will cause further pain and suffering. Ha does not have a right to dictate on what terms they will integrate as this is causing vacuum and chaos.
