From a Norwegian formerly living Lebanon, my deepest condolences to the victims. My heart goes out to all Lebanese who struggle for a better future of the country. I personally don't see how Lebanon can ever "land on it's feet" with the help of Iran or Syria, but hope there's a way of finding some common ground and a solution with the people that's supported by them.

Thank you Naharnet for giving us this opportunity to offer tribute. Our heart is torn by the suffering this blast has caused to the silent innocent victims and their families. Nothing we can say on this absurd unbearable injustice.
I hope the wounded get better soon.
Rest in Peace for those who gave their life.

Naharnet,
Thank you for this. My condolences to the families of the dead and speedy recovery for the wounded. I heard that the third victim was a single mother providing for three young kids. Is it possible to organize a donation page, or maybe create a trust fund for their education?
I really would love to donate!
Anyway, my thoughts are with lebanon and ashrafieh all the way from Canada.

Let this tragedy be a beginning ...to RESPECT each other and care about every citizen in this beautiful country..avoid politization,hatred..remember what the pope message was...let us treasure life. I was at Prague and saw brass plaques at entrance to every house whose owners were deported in wwII...let us put plaques for ALL our martyrs (including Georgette!) at the sites so we remember to work hard to make it a better country FOR ALL. less talk, less partying,no insults,no killing.....respect each other and respect the law. No better national feeling than our army: For the youth and for the future of Lebanon best is for cdivil marriage and 6 month, not in skybar, but in the ARMY!

100 victims? There were thousands others in the area that were affected too, especially children that were frightened beyond belief. In every apartment where the glass chattered like an earthquake hit it, everyone was scared, and kids were crying. These mental scars might not go away as quickly, so they are victims also.

Default-user-icon l (ضيف) 16:52 ,2012 تشرين الأول 21

May all rest in peace, No one deserves to die in such a tragedy, i pray the families of the victims will have the strength to go on during this difficult time and maybe eventually we will all learn to love each other.. love and peace to everyone..

That death of yet another courageous Lebanese, who struggled to unified the country, may go into history as a chapter of violence and unrest in the ME that was overcome by the legitimate will of the people. As a Brazilian of Lebanese descent I trust that, in the same manner that a vernacular form of democracy was achieved in Latin American, it will also be achieved in the countries that are now experiencing great turmoil, namely, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine.
May the brave Brig. General Al-Hassan, his anonymous bodyguard and those who were killed in Ashrafieh be remembered and honored as martyrs. That the people of the ME may also have strength and vision to struggle against violence its darkness.

Please, for those who are in lebanon and could, help form groups to assist the victims and their families financially.
Although the human losses are irreparable, economic support for the injured and the survivors would greatly help alleviate the pain and defeat the goals who wish to put the lebanese on their knees.

May God give strength to all the families who suffered loss, but also healing for the whole country. Something like this has a lasting effect on us all.May we all again remember that LOVE is the answer and not hate.

I spent two months in Beirut this summer. I lived near AUST and used to walk down that alley every day after getting out of my service taxi. I knew the shopkeepers there by face and said hi to them every day as I walked by... I hope they were not hurt, my condolences go out to the victims and I hope whoever did this is brought to justice

The silent majority must rise and make its voice heard. We are all the victims of thugs and criminals. Every single person who ever walked, or drove through that street in Achrafieh was intended as a target. We are all victims of the terror that struck on friday.
