An 18-year-old model and five other people, including two Dutch citizens, have been arrested in Argentina on charges of trying to smuggle drugs to Europe, authorities said Wednesday.
The head of Argentina's airport police said the Argentine model Daiana Antivero was part of the operation to send mules to Europe.
Salvador Postiglione said the two Dutch citizens were each found with "capsules of cocaine in their bodies" without elaborating.
"We believe the girl had a role in organizing logistics and was basically in charge of booking tickets and hotels for the mules," he said.
He said security agents had found 3.5 kilograms of cocaine, including one kilogram that had been divided into capsules to be swallowed by the carriers.
The six suspects were arrested in separate raids in and around the capital Buenos Aires over the past several days, he said.
