Eichhorst Shies Away from Revealing Effects of EU Decision on Hizbullah

European Union Ambassador to Lebanon Angelina Eichhorst has stopped short of revealing the effects of an EU decision to put Hizbullah's military wing on its list of terrorist organizations.

In an interview with the Saudi al-Yaum daily published on Tuesday, Eichhorst said the main reason for EU's decision in July was the deadly bombing that targeted Israeli tourists in Bulgaria a year earlier.

An unidentified bomber blew himself up near an Israeli-packed tourist bus at the airport in Burgas, a popular Black Sea destination, on July 18, 2012, killing five tourists, their Bulgarian driver and himself.

Bulgaria has said that the bomber was helped by two Lebanese-born Australian and Canadian passport holders with links to the military wing of Hizbullah.

However, the EU ambassador insisted that it's not the party that is being sanctioned, saying the EU only targeted its military wing without giving names.

But Eichhorst did not answer a question as to what the EU had achieved through its decision particularly that Hizbullah fighters continue to help troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad in the battle against rebels.

Asked about the fragile situation in the northern city of Tripoli, the ambassador said: “What's happening in Tripoli is a reflection of what's going on in Lebanon in general.”

“It is the duty of the Lebanese state and officials to protect this city and its residents,” she told her interviewer.

“It has become essential to use the funds (appropriated by the sate for the city) and to implement the security plan,” she said.

Eichhorst told al-Yaum that despite reports about the involvement of foreign parties in Lebanon, “the state and politicians should carry out their responsibilities and should be willing to put an end to the tense situation in Tripoli.”

She expressed surprise at the failure to form a new government “after the painful incidents that shook Lebanon,” such as the recent car bombings in Tripoli and Beirut's southern suburbs.

LOL @ Angelina Eichhors:) I will not shy away from revealing the effects of the EU useless decision to list the Resistance on the terror list. Let me "deglose" :
① It is an Honor for the Noble Resistance to be on said list;
② As a result of being on this list, the US of A is now sitting down (not standing up) talking to the Resistance as an EQUAL, Mano-a-Mano, Face-to-Face, Cheek-to-Cheek, etc.
③ The US President is sending Talal Arslan as an intermediary to convince Sayyed Al Moqawameh to agree to a meeting in Washington or Dahiyeh to discuss World and Regional affairs;
④ Gone are the days when Condi Rice would speak to the Lebanese Leaders the way she used to speak to Saniora and make him cry (Just ask a very well respected poster here on Naharnet who witnessed first hand her verbal abuse of our Prime Minister);
⑤ The UN Security Council is holding a series of closed door meetings and behind the scene negotiations to offer the Resistance a permanent Seat on the Council;

⑥ The Lebanese can now go to Qusayr and other Syrian liberated territories unhindered and perform Jihadi Tourism;
⑦ The Lebanese can now kidnap any foreign nationals of their liking and exchange them for cash, drugs, or otherwise;
⑧ Numerous other effects to mention here, but due to limited time and space, the above suffices;

Thank You, and By the Way: I don't like your hair-doo:)

not surprising, the decision turned out as useless as it was baseless.
besides israeli accusations, which came 37 seconds after the explosion, nothing proved the bombing was done by hezbollah. they haven't even identified the bomber, and all they have is the two half lebanese, half-canadian, half-australians "helpers" who lived a few years in lebanon and made a few calls to hezbollah members.

like secret agents wouldnt know how to produce such traces if they wanted to frame hezbollah; dont need to be a genius to realise that anybody can call someone from hezbollah under any false pretense (baniyasou3: that means you probably wont realize it though, sorry).

this is why the bulgarian oppositon vehemently condemned the bulgarian accusations which came under israeli pressures, and the EU foreign ministers initially said the evidence presented was unconvincing, before surrendering to israeli demands.
