Aoun: Doesn’t Matter Who Heads General Security as Long as his Performance is Good
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةFree Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun hoped on Tuesday that the government would immediately start addressing the people’s concerns.
He added after the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting: “Parliament’s extraordinary sessions are aimed at keeping up with the cabinet’s functioning.”
On the appointment of Abbas Ibrahim as the head of General Security, the MP said: “I voiced my position when this issue was first brought up … It’s not important who assumes this position as long as his performance is good.”
“The General Security Department will never turn into what they had transformed it into in the past,” he remarked in reference to the March 14 camp.
On the various assaults against the security forces, he said: “This requires swift action.”
Regarding the attack against a Maronite League delegation at the town of Lassa, Aoun noted: “The Interior Ministry is partially responsible for the assaults happening in the first place.”
“We hope the situation would be contained to avoid it spreading to other areas,” said the FPM leader.
“The ISF cannot prevent various assaults, but these incidents are taking place at an excessive rate and they are not being properly handled,” he added.
“An investigation should be launched in this matter,” the MP demanded.
Regarding the national dialogue, Aoun hoped that the issue of the false witnesses in the investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri would be addressed at the dialogue table.
“A new authority capable of taking a decision in this matter has been formed,” he stressed.
On U.S. aid to Lebanon’s security forced, the MP deemed them as “unproductive” seeing as they are limited to training programs.
“We haven’t seen any weapons or ammunition from the United States,” he concluded.

FPM leader MP Michel Aoun after Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting: We hope the new cabinet will meet the people’s expectations.
MP Aoun on claims that the General Security chief is following Hizbullah’s agenda: I have no comment on this issue.
typically you have a comment even if a chicken farted, why not on this one. Perhaps coz it stinks????
So now it does not matter huh? Why did it matter in previous governments? Where is the defender of Christian rights? Where is the BS you gave us about fighting Harrirism for lost Christian rights?
To the "Retriever of the Christian rights" and the "Liberator from Syria" the following saying applies:
Politicians and diapers should be changed frequently and for the same reason.
Aouwn Aouwn Aouwn..You are an IDIOT...Shut the he$$ up and move to either Syria or Iran. I know the west won’t have you the next time you run away like a chicken.

bravo general,i hope u'll have the same response for the commander in chief of the army...then the presidency ya hami houkouk el massihieh ya batal
So, it does't matter anymore? It only doesn't matter when Aoun is powerless to work his will or to obstruct. Now he can't even obstruct anymore, and so he says its not important. Used up clown, look at what you have incubated into birth.

Amazing! Strange! Very weird indeed is the amount of stupideness and foolishness of the followers of this clown. Whatever he does and says they take it with an admiring open mouth.
They are indeed under a satanic influence and need an exorcism!
Will that applies to the President of the country and the Head of the army?? Just wondering??
This brain damaged would-be politician has probably done more damage to lebanon in his carreer than those who have sponsored him with their weapons (and what might proove to be their killing machine!)
So it doesn't matter who gets the job as long as he's good?
so why did you hold the cabinet hostage to get your retard son-in-law a position?!!
You are a failure on every level. Shame on you.
funny this stupid general says this AFTER the nomination but not before when they were discussing from which sect he should be....
you are really affected by alzheimer
“I voiced my position when this issue was first brought up"... you have twelve ministers why didn't they ask the issue be put up to a vote? Are Hezbollah's orders sacred?
A coward till death.
What would we do without the week ly entertainment performed by the General? Life would be real boring
What a childish and spite full bunch we all are. General Aoun is now the parliamentary majority leader, What do you expect him to say? Whine and winge about how he didn't get his way with the general security post? You can't win every single issue, particularly when we have a democracy like Lebanons that has many different parties in each coalition. Of course he would have prefered a maronite but if not, "As long as they do a good job" is very true answer.he has given back huge power to the christains ability to govern. He is the first majority leader and has the most minister since the end of the civil war. There are many post still to come. He has taken responsibility about the lassa incident and this is in his electorate. The most important thing is hard work, transparency and competence of this government... Something that has not existed, especially the "hard work" of our previous PM who spent more time on holiday and at home in ksa then he spent in The country he was "governing"
Minister Mohammed Fneish to VDL (93.3): The constitution is clear; no position is exclusive for a certain sect. We should follow the principle of rotation.
I see..... You get first what you want, then you start talking about rotation of positions. Why did u not rotate the position of Director of security? Now, you want to devour other positions for your sect, so rotation becomes the word of the moment huh? Your spite and hatred along with your historical and unexplained prejudice will eventually catch up with you.
He always turns a blind eye to the need, what a farce!
To my surprise how nice, smooth, polite he is, saying yeah! Why not as long as I am not the one who could make any decision…. Keep the good job.
@Independence
The idiot Fneich does not know that there are many sources of law: constitution is one of them, as well as law, jurisprudence, and CUSTOM!
The man has no shame, on top of all the crap he said in this interview, his sentence of "we have to make sure the incidents don't spread to other areas" is just a threat from HA to the Christians and he relays it...am sure if that stupid Phenicien is ashamed
@ado.australia. Really? Aoun is the majority leader in Parliament? That's the first I've heard that such an office exists. Parliament has no internal organization. It is Nabi Berri's Dikan and Berri is the shop keeper. Aoun has some sort of poer which requires him to act in some responsible way?
In some alternative universe, ado, or at the end of the world in Australia, but not even over here on this edge of the world in Alabama is such a proposition even close to reality.
You are a funny man Ado Australia, listen to what Fuziyad and Beiruti said, maybe you will think twice before repeating such stupid comments, you still think high of your general although it has been proven that your '' ENORMOUS '' bloc of 28MPS mostly ex SSNP , Marada, or bootlickers, couldnt obstruct the will of Hezbollah's not even 10 mps, or 2 ministers. Michel Aoun got nothing back to christians, those ministries are worthless since Hezb is controlling Lebanon bits by bits, wake up from your fantasy world there is no lebanese state because of Hezb, which was beeing helped by Aoun, and now they are throwing him away, they dont need him anymore, they got the '' LEGAL '' power now, and you say Aoun took responsibility of the accident in Lassa ? what the hell are you talking about man? he said it was the ISF mistake as usual, blaming the sides he envies instead of the ones really responsible, where is Fares Karam by the way ? is the israeli spy dining with general and hassouné? shame
Hezbollah wants to remove everyone Ashraf Rifi works with from the ISF so they can reduce its growing power, lets be honest, the ISF these last few years have been training a lot and Fouhoud '' police commandos '' are doing a great job, and please nobody tal about this shit communist Nahhas that wanted to remove cables from the telecom ministry when the governement wasnt even in place anymore, he was trespassing the law and everybody knows this filthy snake, he was keeping the telecom revenues and not giving it to the governement to distribute it to the people.
Aoun and Hezbollah want to leave Rifi alone in his post, they could have removed him, by they removed only his closest partners like Wissam al Hasan and Co. thus reducing the ISF effectiveness, so that Aoun can still blame Ashraf Rifi for every '' accident '' done by Hezbollah fighters, saying the ISF arent doing their job because of RIfi mafia hariri blabla you know the rest, too bad some Aounist cant see the truth.
