Geagea Accuses Hizbullah, March 8 of Provoking Takfiris in Lebanon

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea lashed out on Tuesday at Hizbullah accusing it of stimulating the Takfiris in Lebanon due to its involvement in the ongoing battles in Syria, calling on the formation of an active and cohesive cabinet.
“The Lebanese people are tolerating the repercussions of Hizbullah's actions in Syria, despite the fact that the party isn't seeking any political or popular cover for its acts,” Geagea said during a ceremony commemorating the late writer and journalist, Nasir al-Assad and artist & Journalist, Pierre Sadek.
Assad and Sadek are two prominent Lebanese media figures.
Geagea wondered “if Hizbullah isn't seeking any cover for its actions in Syrian then why would it want to participate in the government.”
Hizbullah has sent its fighters to Syria to assist troops loyal to President Bashar Assad against the rebels seeking to topple him.
The Christian leader slammed the March 8 alliance, accusing them of provoking the Takfiris in Lebanon.
“The March 8 coalition and Hizbullah monopolized the making decisions on peace and war thus attracting Takfiris,” Geagea added.
He noted that the Lebanese foes should form an “active and cohesive cabinet that could control the border, maintain the country's security and revive the economy.”
Geagea accused “those who took a sole decision to engage in battles in Syria of attracting suicide bombers as if the main aim is to destroy Lebanon to relieve Assad.”
Recent reports have said that President Michel Suleiman and Premier-designate Tammam Salam were seeking to form a de facto government.
Salam was appointed in April but has so far been unable to put together a government over the conditions and counter conditions set by the rivals parties.

@Southern : their existence is a problem indeed. But so is the existence of Hezbollah.
Hezbollah is the "Excuse" takfiris use to endocrinate Sunni youths against them. Hezbollah is (rightfully) viewed as a threat to Sunnis in Lebanon because Hezbollah is a JIHADIST / ARMED / TERRORIST organisation whether you like it or not.
No one will stand "idle" and let Hezbollah take over the country. Some will fight it politically, some will fight it in the streets, some will fight it with terrorist acts which are totally condemnable.
POINT IS : HEZBOLLAH CANNOT CONTINUE TO EXIST as it is today.
Hezbollah must become a "normal" political movement. No weapons. No wars, no excuses, no bullshit !

I don't accept negotiations without conditions. If I were him, I wouldn't negociate with armed criminals who are suspected to have killed my father and are trying everything to bring me back to Lebanon and eliminate me.

I am not here to defend HA. I'm sure there are many here who will give you all sorts of explanations to why that happened etc...
You know what disturbs me? It's how Lebanese label each other as M8 or M14 as if you need to be one or the other. I guarantee that quite a large chunk of the country is neither this nor that. M8 and M14 politicians are composed of ex-war lords or corrupt asses. Why would anyone follow them.
"All parties would be free to focus on building a strong prosperous nation together"<- How I wish this would happen but also a country that is mature enough to rid itself from sectarian sentiments. A country where someone's religion does not dictate his/her political views. As long as this remains we will continue to be a failure even if HA disarms.

Yes the majority I agree are as you describe, however a war only needs a minority of fanatics and then it spirals out of control. Lebanon is a free country but only in theory rather than in reality.
I would much rather they reach an solution through PROPER dialogue and negotiations than through petty name calling or much worse wars. Having lived through the last one I really don't want to see it happen again. I'm sure you agree. It's a messed up situation but one can only hope I guess.
Anyway mate have a good one it's getting late here :) Was nice having debate with you. We might not agree on everything but we agree on the essentials- the dream...
