Qassem Recommends Formation of All-Embracing Political Cabinet

Hizbullah deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem warned on Thursday the formation of a cabinet other than all-embracing national political government, saying that "all options are open.”
Qassem speaking to Hizbullah's al-Manar channel lashed out at proposals to form a neutral or de-facto cabinets, pointing out that these kind of governments would spread “chaos, danger and complications.”
“The only solution if the formation of an all-embracing cabinet... And we advice the President (Michel Suleiman) to carry out this dangerous task.”
He noted that the President and Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam are responsible for offering the Lebanese people “the best.”
“If they are under pressure then it's their problem,” Qassem told the channel.
The official said that the “formation of a new cabinet is a matter that concerns all the Lebanese and not only the PM-designate and the President.”
Qassem rejected statements saying that the formation of a cabinet depends on the presidential elections.
“They are separate matters and each need to have the necessary conditions to be carried out.”
Qassem said that the “Presidential elections must occur even if the government formation was stalled.”
Salam was appointed in April but has so far been unable to put together a government over the conditions and counter conditions set by the rivals parties as fears mount that the differences between the March 8 and 14 camps would lead to a vacuum the presidential post.
Suleiman's six-year tenure ends in May 2014.
The President had recently suggested the formation of a government capable of staging the elections regardless if it does not enjoy parliament's confidence.
The March 8 alliance however rejected the proposal, deeming it unconstitutional.
Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat had proposed the formation of a new cabinet in which the March 8 and 14 alliances would get nine ministers each and six ministers would be given to the centrists – Suleiman, Salam and Jumblat.
This formula, which the March 8 alliance agreed on, prevents a certain party from controlling the government by giving veto power to Hizbullah and its team and another veto power to March 14, he said.

Well it seems that M14 has disappeared from their responsibilities at parliament. No sooner did they approve Salam and a 17 month extension than they went into seclusion all over again.

Mr. Qassir, unless you still believe that the people of Lebanon have no brains, then could you continue speaking in such ways. Sir, what good is it to have a resigned cabinet if it is going to be replaced by another cabinet of the very same nature? Are we really after a changes of faces but that still smell exactly like the previous one, or in truth only a completely new cabinet made purely of professional technocrats will take this country out of the mess you, your Hezbollah party and its Christian puppets, plus the Future alliance and its Christian stooges have plunged this nation of ours into. You people plus your M14 opponents have taken this country from its once relatively stable position to one that is totally devoid of any sense, now you still want to tell us that we must repeat the same rubbish of past? In fact, a party with a Sheikh at it's head should be illegal in Lebanon and not allowed into politics. Especially not an extremist terrorist party trying to teach lessons about politics and democracy based on Iranian and Syrian politics !

This is the problem in engaging with political dialogue with a party that maintains an army outside of the command and control of the elected political figures. When they make demands, like this guy does and says if the demands are not met then "all options are open" that is a direct threat to use its arms to work its political will. No country can operate this way.
Kassam and his party are outside of the Lebanese System and should be no part of it. All they do is demand to control it, or to destroy the country if they cannot. This is the diktat of an occupier, not of a constituent member of the body politic.

In what alternate reality is a terrorist party able to kill the leader of their political opposition (Rafic Hariri), then continue to assassinate and murder scores of other political opponents, get indicted for the murders, and still feel entitled to ask for a "all inclusive" or "national unity" government??????
This is insane. Hezbollah and their allies killed Hariri, Gemayel, Tueni, Kassir, Eid, al Hassan, Eido, (and many others), and tried to kill Chidiac, Murr, Hamadeh and Harb.
In any other country they would be barred from government until the trial for which they were indicted is concluded.
