Syria Opposition Sites Publish Video of Hizbullah Fighters in 'Bab al-Hara' Studio

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Websites affiliated with the Syrian opposition have published a video they said shows Hizbullah fighters “storming” the famous al-Dabaa neighborhood in Damascus, which was featured by Bab al-Hara, one of the most popular television series in the Arab world.

The footage shows a supposed Hizbullah member humorously breaking a door and entering one of the studio's rooms while shouting Abu Hatem – a key Bab al-Hara character that was played by renowned Syrian actor Wafiq Zaim.

When the neighborhood's mosque appears in the video, the man capturing it asks the other alleged Hizbullah member about the name of the mosque's imam in the series.

“Sheikh Abdul Alim,” his friend answers, in reference to the Syrian actor Adel Ali who played the sheikh's character.

The famed series was watched by tens of millions of people in the Arab world.

It chronicles the daily happenings and family dramas in Haret al-Dabaa, a neighborhood in Damascus, in the inter-war period under French rule when the local population yearned for independence.

Hizbullah has openly sent troops to fight alongside Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime against mainly Sunni rebels. The party argues that the controversial move was necessary to protect Lebanon against the threat of Qaida-linked extremists and to defend Shiite holy sites in Syria.

Lady zaynab is in the studio getting her make up fixed. Why else would the terroristas be there?

Thumb _mowaten_ 31 December 2013, 11:34

wow wow wow!!! i think we just saw the most intense combat videos ever, all that "storming" is really shocking!!!

also, how exactly do we know they're hezbollah? just wondering... if anyone has an answer please be my guest.

Thumb proudm14 31 December 2013, 13:13

I know it is winter time, but I imagine it must be getting very hot in Jabal Mohsen. sagh's posts are getting more shrill and desperate by the day, it's like he can tell that he will soon be uprooted.

Thumb _mowaten_ 31 December 2013, 13:13

i dont cut deals with terrorists. either you prove it or you dont, and everybody knows those are empty talks.

Thumb _mowaten_ 31 December 2013, 14:10

ps: whoever it is, i find the remake of the "abou hatem" scene hilarious. in the middle of a terrible war, still finding a minute to be young boys and laughing is heart warming.

pps: i understand you wont find it funny, "terrorist", since there's neither throat slicing nor goats in the video.

Thumb Mystic 31 December 2013, 16:30

This video is the worst bs documentation Naharnet has ever posted. I can't believe people see this site as a professional newspaper.

Thumb Mystic 31 December 2013, 16:30

Any moron can post a video and say "This is Hezbollah" and only other morons will believe it to be true.

I thought news outlets were supposed to show unbiased news.

At the very least you could show the dozens of videos of the "rebel fighters" atrocities.

Thumb proudm14 31 December 2013, 00:19

ahahahah banisitzeinab i love your comments

Your right, its quite easy.
Almanar = Pro-Hezz
Naharnet = Pro Syrian "rebels"

Thumb Mystic 31 December 2013, 04:44

Naharnet is indeed Pro Saudi, just like our President. That was known a long time ago.

Thumb falanges 31 December 2013, 05:25

not your president, your president is ASSAD

Thumb Mystic 31 December 2013, 12:53

I wish if we had a President, he would be like Assad. Not a Saudis slave

Thumb Mystic 31 December 2013, 17:39

Sure, just like the whole Hezb are "Iranian thugs" & "Syrian Mukhabarat" trying to speak your language now American texas, just doesn't seem to satisfy you or you Saudi american agendas.

You seem to forget you are the one kneeling to Israel, Saudi, and Al Qaeda with your lovely views.

Everyone objecting to you, are either a traitor or thug. So please keep showing everyone what a simple minded fool you are

Thumb Mystic 31 December 2013, 17:41

I see Syria & Iran as my equal brothers, and Israel, Saudi, The west as the real enemies trying to exploit us for their own benefit, you will probaly say the opposite, and that is why Lebanese will remain enemies for years to come.

Thumb Mystic 31 December 2013, 17:43

Texas i forgot, you are probaly one of the "heroes" that left Lebanon. So you don't even know what i'm talking about

Im afraid you are wrong. Either your too brainwashed or Naharnet is your only source for news.

When I read in the article: Hezz fighting "against mainly Sunni rebels", it is clear as day who's side their on.
If they wanted to tell the truth, Hezz is fighting mainly Al-Qeada terrorists.

Those retards are the super-fighters mystic told us about.

Thumb cedre 31 December 2013, 00:37

I say what islam says, ie cannibalism is HARAM, cutting corpse are HARAM. But while there are 100k+ rebels, while u keep speaking about the 5-% that are bad ? Is this not the exact definition of deception, propaganda and taqiya ?

When the General of the FSA flees the country to Qatar then its safe to say there is no more FSA. There flags will soon be a collectors item.

If Im not mistaken, many of the fighters in the Syrian Army are Sunni, no???

And it would be a smarter choice to lable these "rebels" as wahabbis/salafis as opposed to Sunnis.

Get your facts straight

Thumb cedre 31 December 2013, 00:01

I am for freedom of religion, its shias business not mine.

Thumb _mowaten_ 31 December 2013, 13:22

wow cedre, impressive that you present it like a "hizbos and khomeyniests" thing, because it's practiced all over the muslim world.

http://www.irinnews.org/report/61947/egypt-minors-sold-for-prostitution-under-guise-of-marriage
same applies to syrian refugees, where mainly saudis come take a teenage wife for a few bucks then dump her once they got what they want.

your hypocrite selectivity when using this as a political argument is shameful and disgusting.

Idriss fled to Qatar. Fled like a swearer rat

Thumb bill_the_butcher 31 December 2013, 00:40

I know it must be hard for you to accept. But your heroes in the FSA are no more.
You can still cheer on Al-Qeada if you want. Or you can stand behind your country flag and not the Saudi flag.

Thumb cedre 31 December 2013, 00:53

sorry, u're right, thats why assad needs iraqi, iranian, lebanese, afghan khomeynists, to fight nobody...

Thumb bill_the_butcher 31 December 2013, 00:57

I dont care weather he needs them or not. Nor do I care if Assad stays or goes.
What i do care about are dead FSA/Al-Qeada terrorists.

Thumb cedre 31 December 2013, 01:30

karimo3 ? is it u ? he uses the same expression ' FSA/Al-Qeada terrorists'...

Thumb zakblat 31 December 2013, 01:00

@cedre - the FSA has been getting there ass kicked on the front lines - not by Assad but by Nusra/ISIS. Looks like posing in pictures with John McCain didn't help.

Thumb proudm14 31 December 2013, 13:29

only a true imbecile would think this serves as a good argument for pro-Assad views. Yes the FSA has been getting their ass kicked by Nusra/ISIS and as a result do not have the energy to keep fighting Assad. That is exactly what is happening and it casts a shadow of doubt on who is truly behind AQ in Syria.
