Mansour: Majed al-Majed's Death Blow to Justice
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةCaretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour noted on Monday that valuable information was lost with the death of the “emir” of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, Majed al-Majed.
He said: “His death is a blow to justice.”
Plans his organization sought to carry out in Lebanon were also lost, he lamented.
Majed, who was recently arrested, died on Saturday after the deterioration of his health.
He was the suspected chief of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades that claimed responsibility for the November 19 bombing of the Iranian embassy in Beirut.
Commenting on Saudi Arabia's grant of three billion dollars to the Lebanese army, Mansour said: “This grant is not enough to completely fortify Lebanon with a comprehensive defense policy seeing as the Zionist enemy enjoys an annual budget of USD 17 billion.”
“The army currently cannot become strong without the resistance by its side,” remarked the minister.
“The resistance's weapons will be withdrawn only when a defense strategy agreed upon by all sides is approved,” he added.
He doubted that the grant will include fighter jets or anti-aircraft weapons, saying that it will likely be limited to logistic aid.
President Michel Suleiman announced on December 29 that Saudi Arabia had pledged to grant Lebanon three billion dollars with the aim of purchasing French weapons for the Lebanese army as soon as possible.
it is obvious that the 3 B Dollars grant from KSA to the Lebanese army are a major thorn in m8 throat!
simply put: you are the ones constantly against arming the army as your role will become useless.
furthermore, iran who is trying to reach an agreement with the west just to get 7b dollars over 6 months, has still to disband hizbushaitan to get that money.
we'll see about disbanding HA lol. but about the 3Bn i was the first one to say mabrouk to our army, but it has to be unconditional. we dont sell our army and pride for any amount.
yeah right, you just sell the shia community to iran because they pay them money ? :)
maybe this is why you cannot accept the fact that the KSA grant is unconditional as usual.
childish answers. you're the one who never was able to understand that iran's support to hezbollah was unconditional. iran supported and preserved the dignity and freedom of not only shias but all lebanese. and they never got anything out of it.
yea, go and fight in syria and take out each and every one of saudi's minions before they lay eggs.
apparently he taunted the army intelligence officers before dying, saying they wouldn't get anything from him because he was going to die first.
his death my have been programmed beforehand, maybe some poison he willingly (or not) took. saudis couldnt afford to keep him alive, and takfiris are expendable resources, the brainless monkeys blow themselves up on command.
on the bright side, it seems the army also has two of his accomplices, those are in good health and they can be thoroughly cooked.
it is the saga of the conspiracy surrounding the Kennedy assassination again.
what is it with stupid m8 guys? they just want to launch accusations that do not stand.
if this terrorist was from KSA, they want us to swallow the idea that he was acting under KSA orders.
it is like saying that a hizbushaitan terrorist is acting under the Lebanese government orders just because he is Lebanese.
so simplistic, that only m8 minds will accept this theory.
lol geha, i dont expect any objectivity or honesty from you, especially not when it's about your saudi masters.
but it's pretty sad to see you like this, the whole world knows it already, except you, and you're here pretending to give lessons.
:)

you referencing Cockburn a well known propagandist to assad is hilarious :)
find something believable so we could believe you :)
your silly attempts to pin things the way you want is ridicule :)
there are tons of articles talking in details about al Qaeda and iran, and that Zarqawi is in iran and al Qaeda is trained there,....
do you see me talking about this?
those are stories they no one can prove so far. so I ignore them, as any sane person would.
hahahahaha, yea, whenever someone says something against your masters he instantly becomes "a well known propagandist". regardless of the sources and references and facts he presents, you just throw your full nikab in front of your eyes.
run geha run!! the truth is after you!!!!
I agree that $3 billion is not enough but it's a large step than the $0 that we're spending and the $100 million or so US and allies are giving us per year.
This guy is a shame to our country, the worth ever Foreign affair minister we ever had in the history of Lebanon...
Its simple, He is a syrian-iranian collaborator!
If Mansour claim is correct meaning our authorities were unable to extract any info from him, that means they utterly failed and proved to be incapable. on the other hand I hope he is lying and that our authorities were able to get info/data from him and they are being silent about it
Some reasons to believe that the military Moukhabarat "let" the man die by orders of Iran (al Maged recognized many times before that Iran ordered him to assassinate KSA's Ambassador in Beirut Khoja). The fact that this Mansour calls his death "a blow for justice" very probably means Iran via Moukhabarat was behind it. All of Lebanese know that Military and its Moukhabarat are closely under control of Iran.
(1) Commenting on Saudi Arabia's grant of three billion dollars to the Lebanese army, Mansour said: “This grant is not enough to completely fortify Lebanon with a comprehensive defense policy seeing as the Zionist enemy enjoys an annual budget of USD 17 billion.” This is a time when I absolutely hate defeatist attitudes as the one reflected by Mr. Mansour. Mr. Mansour needs to be told, that BN3$ for the LAF is already a very good starting point, because a man fighting on his own land is always stronger than the one invading it. This is a position coming from an LF fighter who pretty much of the time fought under circumstances of under funding and under equipped situations. Give the LAF what it needs, keep the dirty fangs of the politicians away from their command structure and the LAF will prove everyone what it is like to defend the nation.
Dear Phoenix,
Very valid points in all of your arguments. You should write for a newspaper or an online media site or maybe have your own blog. I do some articles in foreign monthlies every once in a while and I'm not affiliated to either M8 or M14. But our likes will probably won't get any attention since most are interested in scoring more points for either 8 or 14 even if it's in the expense of the nation.
As I said before, the $3 billion is a good starting point, a good first step but I know very well that this will also be missed by our own disagreements.
Hi Sanctify, thanks for the moral boost, it sure does good to feel appreciated. About developing the writing further, I'll give it a good thought, let's keep connected through this forum if OK by you. Stay blessed.
(2). At this stage it will be a mortal mistake for the Lebanese to take this issue as a weapon to throw a jab at the other's abdomens, clearly the LAF is here for Lebanon, all Lebanon, once we have a properly equipped army, we shall finally have a real nation, a nation of real constitutional institutions. The argument wanting to link the KSA or UAE grants to the death of a presumed terrorist is simply preposterous and totally devoid of any common sense, let any weight to further any argument other than the real intended target, to take Lebanon now well away from its unenviable predicament as a prisoner and salve to militia, to a strong nation living at peace and under s strong authority, state authority.
(3). It seems uncannily evident that we Lebanese by proof of our arguments and counter arguments are simply turning Israel's wish from a wish into reality. Israel for those who may not be aware of this fact, does NOT want a strong and powerful Lebanese State enjoying the benefits of strong constitutional institutions, Israel is most happy seeing us as we are, a compendium of militias and entities so-called parties, one of them being Hezbollah. In fact Israel is not the only one, there are some Gulf nations who do benefit from our dormant state. In this case they stand to gain a lot more, they will tap into our human resources, known for being among the best in the world, they will develop their economies better in the absence of a powerful, stable and competent Lebanon, just a few reason from thousands.
(4). Today the UAE, since it has now secured a firm foothold in the world can now live with the Lebanon it always feared hitherto so it can now be generous with our prosperity when it starts happening, compared to the chaos that could be our alternative, but look at Israel, and in fact several neighboring countries, do they want that strong Lebanon we Lebanese want? Please think!! Haven't you people realized yet that just how many times we Lebanese were sooooo close to becoming prosperous, economically vibrant, that's right, you heard me, we were only inches away from that huge economic boom, almost touching it when bang, kaboom, everything blows up into thin air, haven't you people noticed yet?
(5). When planeloads were coming to Beirut, full to the brim with visitors, coming to holiday, invest, buy properties, shopping festivals, in fact since when have we last heard of a shopping festival in Lebanon, and so much more, then all of a sudden, they all return back in panic, standing at the ports, borders begging for anyone to give them a lift out of the country? We Lebanese are simply playing that same game they want us to play, if only we paused, and thought for a while. We could end it all, if we as a people just saw the benefits of peace as opposed to the miseries of war.
Everyone knows that Lebanese Army intelligence murdered him on behalf of KSA. After they tortured Ali Eid's driver to get a false confession here they are again. Lebanese Army intelligence can no longer be be trusted, they are obviously in Bandar's pocket. Mr Ibrahim Al Amine in Al Akhbar warned Lebanese Army intelligence not to murder Majed al-Majed, but still they did because the Iranian interrogators were arriving and were going to extract all the details from him.
What about the autopsy ?
Btw if shias dont want KSA helping LAF, please refuse the money, make demonstrations and let ur MPs know.
KSA should then invest this money in sunnis areas, the same way iranians do sectarian investments in Lebanon.
Tripoli and the north will happily accept this money, they're among the poorest in Lebanon, thanks to hafez and nassy's politics...
