Report: Nasrallah Telephoned Aoun to Resolve Cabinet Crisis

Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has personally telephoned Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun to resolve the last knot preventing the formation of the new all-embracing government, al-Liwaa newspaper reported on Tuesday.

But Aoun's stance on the rejection of the 8-8-8 formula and the rotation of portfolios among sects has remained so far unchanged.

The FPM chief is rejecting to give up the energy and telecommunications portfolios that are part of his movement's share in the resigned government of caretaker Premier Najib Miqati.

An Nahar daily said that Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam will be informed on Tuesday about Aoun's final answer to the deal struck among the rest of the factions on the 24-member cabinet and the rotation.

The newspaper said the countdown for the formation of the government starts on Tuesday as Salam holds onto the 8-8-8 formula and the concept of rotation.

Reports said that President Michel Suleiman and Salam could resort to a neutral government or an all-embracing cabinet excluding the FPM if Aoun remains adamant to reject the rotation of portfolios.

Christians are being treated as second class citizens ever since this damned Taef accord. We waited for Hariri fo 8 months to accept to join cabinet with HA, we waited for HA for 8 months to accept the 8 8 8 formula.
As for the christians, they have 2 weeks to decide or else...

Anyway. Aoun will accept. But he will accept on a Tuesday. Because he likes Tuesdays. He just wants to get as much concessions for the presidential elections as he can get in exchange.

Lebanon taef accord brought an end to the civil war which is close to a miracle. No one told Aoun to start a war with everyone and weaken the christians to the point where the Syrians walked into our areas and occupied us for 30 years eliminating any christian opposition and replacing them with mouthpieces ie Smaha,Lahoud etc etc etc

cedars. i agree 100%. The war of 1990 was the biggest mistake of Aoun.

Not 2 mention those who don't bother 2 vote. If 42% voted fpm, in reality they represent 20% of Christians and the others a little more.

ex-fpm. Geagea is anyway in denial, says no to everything. He is not a political player. he is "jabhat el rafd"

LF, that war of 1990 was NOT a mistake by Aoun, it was planned and properly executed by him and the Syrians. He gave them Lebanon on a silver platter and he stabbed us all in the back. Look at how he is a bedfellow with the Syrian regime? let us say that Bachir Gemayel was at the time commander of the LF, do you think he will make that mistake of trusting Aoun for a single minute? Geagea was so gullible, I was one who made my position absolutely clear, I told this damn thick-head of a 7akim, don't give the general any weapons, don't believe him, don't trust him!! What did we get from Geagea but, "Al general bi moun". Eh ya 7akim bala mo5, shefet shu sarr halla2?

(1). Sayed Hassan does not worry me, nor does Nabih Berri, nor does Saad Hariri. As a Christian, I don't need them all to either protect me nor give me any orientation. They are not my enemies, nor do I look at them as such, they are here to do what they feel is best for their constituencies. In Nabih Berri's words of years ago, he said and I quote, "Do not worry for the Christians, give them a few guns and they'll be divided forever". Guns? yes, we have in fact just too many and way above guns too, but we have this old relic called Michel Aoun, who is here to keep dividing us at every single move we do, anything we do, this rotten old man must prop up his ugly face to divide us. he has superseded Walid Jumblatt in changing positions every single day, not bothering about his integrity or what's left of it anyway. Aoun has hos own TV, courtesy of Hezbollah and Iran, watch it for some days and you will divorce you own family if it disagrees with you.

(2). Michel Aoun keeps lying to the people and with his TV and other media will fabricate, concoct, photoshop and all, to distort anything or anyone he wishes to character-assassinate. Aoun is here to keep us Christians divided, anytime he sees two talking in unison, this old fag will come to cause doubt between them. years back he fabricated the picture of a Hezbollah fighter in Shwefet to look like an LF fighter in Dora highway, with LF cross et all, how silly of his OTV room of sins. If Frangieh talks to Gemayel, the old man must send a delegation to sow doubt as to why they should not talk and agree.

(3). His partisans or what's left of them will dislike what I am saying, well, I am truly sorry, I am not target them in person, but the old man. I have been around long enough to detect when a leader is here to sow discord between us Christians. When Pierre Gemayel died, he was caught off-guard saying, One less, with his sick wry smile as always. As long as Michel Aoun lives, as long as we as Christians will remain divided, weak and disorientated if not totally confused. he ridicules us, as he ridicules our M14 allies, as if his allies were any better, he insults us and wants the world to believe that he is never wrong but right. because of him, we cannot impact our country as we should nor play our role fully.

I have two very old Lebanese wine bottles in my cellar, I mean seriously old, one dates back to 1938 and the second one to 1944. I am jealously keeping them well and I will open one of them, when I know that this sick old Aoun has kicked the bucket, and for good. I am also keeping ten M16 clips, just to celebrate the moment, may it come soon.
