Report: Security Fears Grow amid Warnings of Future Terrorist Attacks in Lebanon
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةSecurity authorities warned of the dangerousness of the upcoming phase in Lebanon amid information that more terrorist attacks will be carried out in the country, reported As Safir newspaper on Saturday.
Security sources told the daily that authorities received reports that Lebanon will soon be “facing a very dangerous phase.”
“This requires the greatest level of vigilance and security forces must remain alert in order to confront the dangers that are no longer limited to a certain region, but they have become spread out in the country,” they remarked.
Moreover, they revealed that some western military officials “have expressed their concern over the terrorist attacks that had taken place in Lebanon recently.”
They also expressed their fear over the “freedom of mobility that these terrorist organizations enjoy in some Lebanese regions.”
“They warned that signs that the Syrian conflict will spread to Lebanon are increasing,” stated the security sources.
A security document was leaked to the press on Friday revealing that a suicide bomb attack was being planned against a political figure in Beirut or the northern city of Tripoli.
It said that a Syrian suicide bomber driving an explosives-laden Kia is plotting to target the high-ranking personality.
Lebanon had witnessed in recent months bomb attacks against Hizbullah strongholds.
The latest took place in Beirut's southern suburbs of Dahieh on January 21.
Four people were killed and at least 35 wounded in the attack claimed by the Nusra Front in Lebanon.
This what happens when Lebanon allows an Iranian backed militia to arm itself and take decisions on its own.Solution?
Consider HA a terrorist organization, arrest its leaders, let them face assassination, corruption, drug running, arms running and sabotage charges.
I wonder who gave HA that "right"? Was it Saudi Arabia in return for political power in Lebanon?
Sucks they never had the foresight to realise that HA's weapons can be leveraged for political power. That's what short term greed does.
Now the whole country is suffering from the consequence of allowing a non-state backed militia to operate freely in the country.
The worse part is that this non-state backed militia is what's currently keeping the country from imploding (while dangerously keeping it on the brink for the past few years).
What's your take on Justin Bieber's deportation petition? Is that good for the resistance?
If you took a step back, you would realise that shia or non-shia (to use your sectarian stupidity), Lebanon is always going through "a dangerous phase".
The saddest part is the good people of Lebanon left a long time ago. You seem to forget about a minor incident that started in 1975. Why do you expect things to be any different with the same faces around?
Geagea, the Jumblatts, Berri, the Gemayels, Hizballah (Iran), Aoun, the Assads, the Hariris (Saudi), and god knows what Palestinian factions. Go back to the civil war, and they're all the major players. Your idiocy lies in the fact that you think only one side is responsible for the shit we're in now. They all kept a 15 year war going, and who's stopping them from going at it again?
You're singling out a few of them to blame when they've all done (and are capable) of much worse.
Of course there is going to be terrorist attacks in lebanon hizbollah opened the gates of hell on lebanon again and again the innocent lebanese will pay the ultimate price to all citizens of lebanon HIZBOLLAH are the cause of all the misery the sooner this vile group is destroyed the better for all lebanon .
