Aoun: Resistance Does Not Need Recognition of Any Side
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةFree Patriotic Movement MP Michel Aoun urged on Tuesday the panel tasked with drafting a government policy statement to complete its mission soon in order to allow the staging of the presidential elections.
He rejected the ongoing debate among its members over references to the resistance, saying: “The resistance does not need the recognition of any side.”
“The panel will not affect the resistance or the developments in the Middle East,” he stated after the Change and Reform bloc's weekly meeting.
The panel must set aside disputes over the phrasing of the statement because actions, not words, will affect the situation in Lebanon, remarked the MP.
Aoun warned that the failure to draft a new statement will threaten the staging of the presidential and parliamentary elections.
“The postponement of the elections may lead to the fragmentation of Lebanon,” he continued..
“Are officials aware of what they are doing to the country?” he wondered.
“We must seriously tackle the situation in Lebanon,” he demanded.
“The government is not aimed at describing the reality in Lebanon, but it seeks to ensure the functioning of state institutions. It is tasked with holding the presidential elections,” stressed Aoun.
Asked to verify media reports that he may travel to Saudi Arabia, he replied that there are no obstacles hindering such a visit, adding however that it has not been scheduled.
“We must solve our problems by ourselves, but that does not mean we cannot visit countries that may assist us,” he said.
The ministerial panel drafting a policy statement has so far failed in its mission due to the ongoing dispute over referring to the resistance against Israel.
It has met several times over the past two weeks, but disputes over the resistance persist.
It is set to convene on Friday.

FPM chief MP Michel Aoun after Change and Reform bloc's weekly meeting: Some sides are beginning to threaten with the collapse of the government.
"the government is not aimed to describe the reality in lebanon, it is aimed at presidential elections": 100%.
This policy statement is a useless negotiation that costs time and taxpayer's money for nothing. We should do a law to repeal it. We dont have to rediscuss our differences each time we do a new council of ministers, We should discuss them in the parliament and in the dialogue sessions. and let ministers do their work.
Displaced Persons Minister Alice Chabtini to Future TV: Is it acceptable to curse the president if he told them to offer some concessions? Why don't they want the army? Is it because the extraordinary aid came from Saudi Arabia?
Now, this is what I call courage and decency.
Some folks continue to use the terms Resistance Militia and organized Terrorist Group, interchangeably so I am taking it upon myself to explain the difference to those misguided souls.
If a group of people calling themselves the Party of God blow up 241 of my fellow Americans, sleeping in their barracks in Beirut while part of a peace keeping mission, guess what? they are not a resistance, they are terrorist cowards.
If a group of people calling itself the Party of God uses its weapons against fellow citizens in order to impose it's political will, preserve its illegal telecom network and prevent security cameras, guess what? they are not a resistance, they are terrorist cowards.
If a group of people calling itself the Party of God which is not the legitimate army of Lebanon but then crosses the border into a foreign country and fights a war on a foreign soil, guess what? they are not resistance, they are paid terrorist mercenary cowards meddling in a foreign countries internal affairs.
so please, going forward let's give everything its proper label so we can discuss our differences rationally. HA and their supporters are oppressing me and at least half of the citizens of the country by terrorizing us at gunpoint. Please stop masquerading as resistance and have the courage to be who you really are, terrorists, plain and simple.
Dear General Aoun, yes, you are right Sir, as you said, the Resistance Does Not Need Recognition of Any Side, I am with you a 100% on this side, and I have to congratulate you for this, but ya general which resistance if I may ask? Sir, this resistance as we used to know it, is dead, what it needs in truth is a requiem mass to pray for its soul, for this so-called resistance has long since lost its soul, only our prayers can help it from now on. So far so good ya General, and I also accept what you said where you said, we must agree with ourselves, perfectly right on the buck again, but you see, my main worry remains whereas it concerns you and why? Because I've seen you many times in the past come up with great positions only for you to mess them up in less than 24 hours thereafter. But then, it's Tuesday, right ya general?
Hey takfiris Chip and Dale, incase you didn't know. Christians in Syria fight alongside Hezbollah in Syria, and are battling to reclaim their churches and villages. Watch your brothers turn to ashes, you can thank Al Nusra when they bomb Christian and druze areas in Lebanon, you will see the M14 christians leave Geagea and turn to the Resistance.
I await the day when I will read ONE meaningful post, ONE counter argument, ONE credible or mature info from you, ..Flamethrower.. , but alas!
Another American lie, LAF always roam freely, without any objection. Actually the LAF stayed out of the conflict 2008 to prevent split in the army, which was a clever move, but they still had presence in and around Beirut, also in the southern surburbs which you deny.
The current situation today, the LAF are stationed everywhere, nobody is pleading them. They are doing their National duty, be it Tripoli, Hermel, Beirut or Arsal. Doesn't matter, so drop your secterian rhetorics once and for all.
Strong face? Isn't that what you americans keeps saying that you are the strongest and most powerful technology in the world? So how come you hide in fear, when Russia shows teeths, and all you can do is talk about diplomatic sanctions?
I love how M8 people believe that their use of the word "everybody" includes me. I am by definition part of everybody but I am against Aoun, M8, and the terrorist group HA. News flash M8, half of the population feels exactly like the way I do, so none of you get to make my decisions for me or speak on my behalf.
Additionally, I took the time to explain above that HA is not a resistance militia, it is an organized terror group. For those of you who do not have a good grasp of the English language, no worries, just don't post your ignorance here...it embarrasses you and makes you seem like you support terrorism.
Please look up the terms military, war and terrorism. Please make use of a dictionary to learn the differencez. Whatever war the US was involved with, be it good, bad or indifferent, it used use a military force to do it with, it was NOT sanctioned by God, in the name of God or named the Party of God. Just GI Joe 's who saved the rest of the world from the Nazi's and communism. You seem like a nice person, are you sure you want to support an organization that butchered 241 US servicemen?
It's okay I understand your frustration, your Party of God, has a direct telephone line to God and he tells them on a daily basis to fight in Syria in his name?
"God bless America" isn't that what you americans say? Or when you fought for God and country against the "evil" communists in Vietnam. Amuses me to see what kind of hypocrits you Americans are, especially now following the events of Ukraine, America invaded Iraq and Libya briefly, and they got the nerve to talk about intervention.
I understand your hostility and envy towards us and I am positive you boycott McDonald, Coca-Cola and KFC because you are true believer in your cause, however us being hypocrites does not change the fact that your Party of God is a Party of Terror who declares it is slaughtering people in the name of God. You seem like a nice person, are you sure you want to support terrorism and these kinds of thugs?
God bless General Aoun for protecting Lebanon from the evil schemes of Saudi Arabia.
@Mystic, with all due respect, we do not need Hezbollah as christians to protect us from neither the takfiris, salafists, libyans or zimbabwyens, we know how to take care of ourselves and we have proven it a long time ago before your resistance (which i respect but do not follow) was ever created. In fact and in reality, the biggest threat is to the chiites of lebanon. Christians have not engaged any side and are neutral. As long as nobody hurts us, we are not siding. This conflict has always been about sunni/chiite. So stop turning around and making us think otherwise. True lebanese christians arent afraid neither from their counterparts and brothers sunnites or chiites, or even takfiris and salafists. In fact, chiite and suniite are the ones scared of each other.
Resistance = no electricity paying thugs = no valid building permits on airport road = stole telecom manholes government infrastructure to build own telecom network = interfered in both neighboring countries kidnapped Israeli in 2006 and are in Syria today = assassinated anti-Syrian Lebanese politicians to sustain status quo and weaken their opponents = armed militia under Iran republican guard authority.
Forgot one important fact, resistance = cancer to Lebanon and require destroying all it's cells to overcome the land people and army.
Aoun is saying, the hand that you can't deal with it kiss it and pray to god to break it.
