Sources: Miqati Rejects Tension, his Stance Awaits Judiciary’s Probe into TIME Interview
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةPrime Minister Najib Miqati is waiting for the results of the investigation carried out by the general prosecutor’s office on the TIME magazine interview to take the appropriate action, his sources said Monday.
In remarks to several newspapers, the sources said that Miqati is hoping the probe would unveil the true story behind the controversial interview with one of the four suspects in ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s Feb. 2005 assassination.
The premier rejects making conclusions or statements on the issue and on everything linked to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to safeguard national unity and civil peace, confront strife and achieve justice in Hariri’s case, they said.
The cabinet will take all necessary measures pending the end of the judiciary’s investigation on the interview, the sources told the dailies.
“There is no justification to the campaign carried out by the opposition against the government,” they said, adding that pro-government forces are seeking to calm the situation down but the March 14 forces are making the opposite.
“Miqati won’t be part of the party stirring tension in the country,” the sources stressed.
“They are asking where the state is. But has there been a state in the past four years when they were in power? Did they seek to control the security situation?” the sources wondered.
Miqati wants wants to await the results of the judiciary probe...And then what? Nothing!!! These are useless statements that show the State is a toothless lion ! It 'll surely take longer to catch the 4 criminals on the loose (plus any more surprise names to come!) than it took to throw Geagea in jail in 94 (on false witness grounds!)
Miqati is very useless and lacks logic and charisma, not that his predecessor Saniora had any but at least someone like Saeb Salam could color the scene and add more flavor to politics. Miqati is also acting like he's the postman of Hezbollah who awaits orders from them to disseminate to the public. I am really getting fed up even seeing Miqati, let alone hearing him speak. After all his appearance isn’t nice to see on TV exactly like Saniora was. Are we doomed to have ugly people as Prime Ministers. At least Saad Harriri was a handsome guy and nice to see on TV.
If I were Miqati I’d save my skin and dignity and resign rather than being a puppet to anyone.
George, due to the Tiaf accord, all "presidents" of Lebanon, are puppets of the different factions. No one can be his own man or true statesman. This was the whole reason tiaf was designed, to keep the three presidents in conflict, with no real leader of the country. The syrians used the old divide and conquer tactic, which (to use mr brain's favorite word) the monkey Lebanese easily oblige. Too easily are we divided and there can be no "strong" leader.
As for your "good looking" Saad hariri, you really think so? Watch this link of his speech in parliament and tell me if you would be proud having him as our P.M.

Not only good looking, charisma and power, but also cute and funny. Something rat in the hole had but has now lost.
