Phalange: Govt. Distracting People with its Disputes instead of Tackling Citizens’ Concerns

W460

The Phalange Party criticized on Monday the government’s performance, saying that the officials are acting as if the country does not have its daily challenges and problems.

It said in a statement after its weekly meeting: “The officials are on an unjustified political holiday, cabinet sessions are pointless, parliament has been obstructed, and vacuum has taken over the administrations.”

“The Lebanese people are struggling under the weight of their daily concerns and no one has lifted a finger to ease their suffering,” it added.

“The most dangerous matter is that the government is trying to distract the people with its internal disputes instead of tackling the citizens’ concerns,” it stressed.

The electricity file is the most recent distraction as “the government is leading the public to believe that the core of Lebanon’s problem lies in the energy sector,” it continued.

“The real problem lies in matters of justice, sovereignty, security, economy, and the possession of illegitimate arms,” noted the Phalange statement.

It also condemned Hizbullah’s undermining of the state’s authority as demonstrated in the recent discovery of a telecommunications network for the party in the town of Tarshish in the Bekaa region.

“This discovery demonstrates that Hizbullah is no longer focusing its attention on the South as part of its so-called resistance against Israel, but it is attempting to expand its statelet on the internal scene in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, the Bekaa, and the North,” it said.

The Phalange Party therefore called on the Lebanese government to explain to the public the truth behind the network, urging it to take swift measures to halt Hizbullah’s plan of dividing Lebanon.

How cynical for a political party who had illegal weapons for decades; after agreeing to signing the Cairo agreement, Pierre Gemayel et al couldn't gorge up enough on weapons and ammunition. Does anyone remember the flower festival in Bikfaya, among other displays? somewhere near the end... the parade of the Gemayel fiefdom militia? eh? Sure, it was a preparation for the war with the Philistines, but the bottom line, it was nothing than a campaign to protect the kingdom.
All weapons and all militias who store weapons are illegal. Problem is for Ammouneh, the balance has tilted towards the "other" side.
You reap what you sow, and constantly bringing up the subject of illegal weapons is a ludicrous as it gets.

Well at least our friend above did not use my name :)

I always find the "your boss" derogatory comment to be funny. Unless someone is on someone else's payroll, then the latter is not the boss of the former.

I have sometimes been addressed this way by some morons on this site. Even worse... Whenever I criticized Hizbullah, they went on and on with the "your American masters" or "your Israeli masters" remarks... Although I have never engaged in bondage practices with an American or an Israeli. Of course there was this cute Finnish girl once... :)

I agree with schnitzel , the evil Kataeb and their weapons were the only thing that stood in the way of the Magnificent Moukawama al Falasteeniya and the fantastic 7araka al Wataniya and the settling of the Palestinians and liberating this Muslim land from the Christian invaders . That's why we in March 8 and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon hate the evil Kataeb to death and that's why the brilliant and never wrong MP Nawwaf Al Moussawi keeps reminding us of the Gemayel family's dark history . But have no worry the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon will make sure the job is finished and the Christian invaders are evicted from this sacred Muslim land .

I have to disagree here. The M8 government has strengthened Lebanon with a strong new no smoking law, and is going after dirty restaurants!!! They are sure to be re-elected with a powerful platform like that.

Ya phenicien, your sectarian hatred will get you no where. Thank God that most Lebanese Muslims don't believe in your stupid ideology.

Eid Mubarak to all.

Ya schnitzel, first of all you need to brush up on your Lebanese history. Pierre Gemayel did not sign the Cairo agreement, it was Emile Boustany.

Second of all, when you had "refugees" who wanted to overthrow the Lebanese government and take full control of the country, you expected people to just sit on their ass and do nothing.

The Kataeb did what needed to be done, and I guarantee you if they had to do it again to protect the 10452 they would not hesitate for one second. So you are barking up the wrong tree...
