Berri Says Lebanese National Defenses in Danger

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Speaker Nabih Berri slammed some officials in the state without naming them, stressing that they don’t want to continue the establishment of Lebanon’s national defenses.

Berri statements came after Israeli press reported that their country began establishing a military strategy to secure the oil fields disputed over with Lebanon.

“They don’t want to restore the political, national and strategic awareness aimed at preserving the nation's rights and natural resources,” he said.

The speaker noted that Israel will not hesitate to violate Lebanon’s unity and hit its strength to halt any attempt by Lebanon to renew the dialogue among the Lebanese.

Israel has for months been moving to develop several large offshore natural gas fields, some which are shared with Cyprus, that it hopes could help it to become an energy exporter.

But its development plans have stirred controversy with Lebanon, which argues the gas fields lie inside its territorial waters.

Israel does not have officially demarcated maritime borders with Lebanon, and the two countries remain technically at war.

"The speaker noted that Israel will not hesitate to violate Lebanon’s unity and hit its strength to halt any attempt by Lebanon to renew the dialogue among the Lebanese. "

Does anyone understand how Israel will "violate Lebanon's unity"? How long will this jerk continue to use Israel as the boogeyman to achieve his Iranian and Syrian goals? When will the Lebanese people wake up - like all their fellow Arabs - and do an uprising against these feudal, sectarian, money-laundering leaders whose claim to power is based only on the fear they instill in all of us, the Lebanese people? When will this dinosaur fix roads, bring electricity and running water, and fix our daily problems? Does anyone care anymore about his "resistance" and "liberation " and other BS from the past century?

Is this the FEAR propaganda that the Previous dying Arab regimes used to weaken the spirit of the people under the umbrella of Defense and resistance against the enemy.

Plan should be used to strengthen it rather than creating fear.
Amalgamate the private militia into the Army.....

This is great challenge and if successful.....great miracle.

Go for it

I agree that the Lebanese national defense is in danger, but to fix the problem we need to figure out what caused it !!!

And the answer is two simple words: Hassouni and the General.
Fix those two Saints and the problem goes away...

The Hezz won't let the army arm up or deploy in the entire country. Berri can stop speaking of "National" as long as the Shia have zones where the army and other citizens cannot go. Berri is a criminal fraud. When ASSad goes down his relevance will diminsh considerably.

Lebanon's enemy is within. " God help a state, that every tribe within it is a statelet". Lebanon will only be able to resolve the territorial dispute with Israel through negaotiations, not war. Egypt did it and the Palestenianians themselves are as well. Proud to be Lebanese.

Lebanon was and is still in danger from the Threats of the totalitarian regimes of Iran and Syria.
Hopefully the Syrian regime will fall soon so Berri can rest and sleep while the iranian regime will follow when its arm in the Middle east is amputated by losing its Syrian ally.
