March 14 Urges Govt. to Take Initiative and Fund STL

The March 14 General Secretariat criticized on Wednesday Prime Minister Najib Miqati’s “deceptive” statements over Lebanon’s commitment to fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, saying that the Lebanese people want the tribunal to be funded.
It said in a statement after its weekly meeting: “We urge the Miqati government to immediately take the initiative and have Lebanon pay its dues in funding the STL, which the government said that it supports ‘in principle’.”
It pointed out that the premier’s willingness to fund the tribunal has been met with some contradictory statements by some ministers who have voiced their opposition to the international court.
“The government’s shortcomings in committing to international obligations will serve as a new blow to the majority of the Lebanese people’s desire to achieve justice for its martyrs,” it noted.
On the developments in the Arab world, the March 14 General Secretariat congratulated the Libyan people for the success of their revolution.

I'm sure that they didn't ask the people. But it's a good opportunity to held a referendum about the STL funding and a census too.
