3 Rockets from Border Area Hit Northern Bekaa Region
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThree rockets landed Friday in the northern Bekaa region after being fired from the Eastern Mountain Range, which straddles both sides of the Lebanese-Syrian border.
“One of the rockets exploded over a secondary school in (the town of) al-Labweh as the other fell below the international highway that links northern Bekaa to Baalbek,” state-run National News Agency said.
It did not report any casualties or damage.
Meanwhile, MTV said “a third rocket fell near AMAL Movement's office in al-Labweh.”
On September 9, two rockets fired from the same area landed in the outskirts of the northern Bekaa town of Hawrtaala, causing no casualties or damage.
The Eastern Mountain Range on the undemarcated Lebanese-Syrian border has been witnessing clashes between armed groups and Hizbullah fighters for more than a year now.
Fighting has also taken place between these groups and the Lebanese and Syrian armies in the plains of the Lebanese border town of Arsal.
Several Syria-based rebel and jihadist groups had in the past claimed responsibility for such attacks, arguing that they were in response to Hizbullah's military intervention in the neighboring country.
