Report: Extremists to Attack North in Attempt to Grab Land

Extremist groups are set to launch a wide attack on north Lebanon, according to French intelligence reports that were conveyed to Lebanese authorities.

As Safir newspaper reported on Monday that the concerned authorities received a French tip off that extremists will launch their attack from the northern district of Akkar.

Informed sources told the daily that the Lebanese army is dealing seriously with all warnings, whether they were true or not.

The sources noted that the army took all the necessary measures to confront any development on the field in the North and to avoid any surprises.

For the past few months, the military has been coming under increasing armed attacks mainly in northern Lebanon.

Since August, the Lebanese army has been fighting militants from the Islamic State group and al-Qaida-linked al-Nusra Front near the border with Syria.

Earlier that month, the extremists crossed into the northeastern town of Arsal from Syria, capturing soldiers and policemen. Two of the soldiers have since been beheaded and one has been killed in captivity.

The attacks against the military rose after the Arsal gunbattles.

Didn't that same publication carry this same informed sources report just as the samaha mamlouk plot was being put into action?

But at least this time the publication made sure to cover all bases with "whether they were true or not."

You beat me to it mowaten. I was thinking the same thing, exactly the same! We are so so similar: we are both narcissists, both shia extremists who pretend to be moderates, both have an inferiority complex, both pretend to be secular, and both have multiple accounts. I just hope readers don't think we are the same poster.

Honestly, I would just let them have the North. Most of the people over there are sympathetic to and ideologically similar to FSA-Al Qaeda anyway, so it wouldn't be a big loss for Lebanon. While we're at it, I'd give them Meerab too, and Geagea can fulfill his fantasy of "Fal ya7kom ikhwan".

Mist of the people sympathize with FSA but not with is or al nusra.

The same sanctimonious HA thugs who bullied Ziad Rahbani away for merely remind them of his ignored martyrs. Some of those were helped into martyrdom by the HA thugs themselves.
