An Egyptian national and his Lebanese wife were arrested in the southern region of Hasbaya on suspicion of collaborating with Israel, said the Army Command in a statement on Monday.

It explained that the couple was under surveillance for some time and the male suspect confessed that he had started working with Israeli intelligence in 1999.

He revealed that he had entered Palestinian territory three times and that he had presented security services to Israel in exchange for money.

Furthermore, he said that his wife was aware of his activity with the Jewish state.

The army discovered at his house a device dedicated to sending information to Israel, as well as a CD containing aerial photographs of civilian and military targets in southern Lebanon.

They also found a SIM card of an Israeli mobile phone line in his possession.

Investigations with the suspects are ongoing.

With the poverty in the Arab world and Lebanon as well as lack of employment, it is not surprising some people will carry out illegal and traitorous activities to make ends meet! Societal problems have to be dealt with and people have to be looked after otherwise, the enemies will exploit this

I can understand why our little friend jabalamel tahto is so outraged I mean this Egyptian guy and his wife are encroaching on the exclusive territory of Hezbollah and friend in al bee2a al hadinat for Zionist spies. jabalamel is very possessive when it comes to the arms and spying he thinks they should be restricted to Hezbollah's community alone.

this news is more than 6 hours online now and still not a single "anti hezbalah lebanese" (actually zionist information war department) didn't say a word.

usualy, when there is anything that i remotely connected to hezbalah iran, syria, amal, anyoone from march 8 coalition or anything that they don't like....they are here in 15 minutes, spilling their slime into an nahar comments section.

you don't fool us...we know who you are.

Habal, As you always say about the STL cooperating with Israel when Naharnet report the facts, we do not believe this story because Egypt and Israel have a peace treaty and any tourist from Egypt can visit the jewish state and purchase "pay as you go" cell phone to call home (Egypt or Lebanon for his wife). So as you always say about the STL show me the money and real data before you blame the Zionist regime on why the weather is hot today. in summary no one believes your program/propaganda anymore because when you wake up in the morning on the wrong side of the bed you blame Israel for being the reason of all evils.

Habal, do you know the meaning of "Suspicious" or "fishing"

Default-user-icon Ram (Guest) 27 September 2011, 04:25

jabalamel:
just to be clear, the fact that some people dislike your so called resistance - which btw, really is a "resistance", to everything including social, political, cultural and other various aspects - doesn't mean that these same people condone the actions of traitors of the nation.
So stop being so one track minded and idiotic.

Regards,

by definition a traitor is the one who sides with external parties, and it is considered as the worst crime in all countries.
based on that, these guys should be tried for it, as well as whoever supports a foreign power like israel, syria or iran.
all who do support any of the above is a traitor.

Default-user-icon mike (Guest) 27 September 2011, 10:44

based on this shouldn't hizballah be taken into trial since they are collaborating with outside powers like Syria and Iran? Oh wait, they tried to do that with the STL but they don't believe in democracy or justice and refuse to stand trial. My bad.

Thumb geha 27 September 2011, 15:26

it is treason when Iran arms hizbullah, and nasrallah says clearly: if iran is attacked we will launch our missiles towards israel.
let it into YOUR thick head\\\\; \hizabullah are traitors to Lebanon.

Thumb canaanite 27 September 2011, 15:29

@mowaten.... it is an act of war and treason when a foreign power arms a militia in an attempt to take over the country making the entire Hezbollah regime TREACHEROUS!

i.e. you are also a traitor...

Thumb canaanite 27 September 2011, 15:32

@jabalamel... seems a large number of "spies" are popping up from the south...

please inform the rest of us "uninformed" peoples... Is this a sign the south is revolting against Hezbollah who controls the south?

Is this a sign Hezbollah is having a morale crisis?

Does it concern you that no-one in the world likes you except the Iranian regime (not peoples) and Syrian regime (again not peoples)?
