Army Defuses 10-Kg Bomb Found on Zgharta Road
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةA military expert dismantled on Wednesday around 10 kilograms of explosives found on a road in Zgharta district in northern Lebanon, the army said.
The bomb was discovered by General Security's Intelligence Branch officers on the road of Majdlaya that lies between the city of Tripoli and the town of Zgharta.
Security forces and the army drew a tight dragnet around the area and blocked the road when the expert defused the explosives around 8:00 am, said the army.
The street remained closed for a while and was later reopened.
The army communique said the bomb was made up of a gas cylinder filled with 10 kilograms of explosives, and linked to a detonator and a 15-meter electric cable.
“An investigation is underway to find the perpetrators,” it added.
