Suspected Defected Syrian Soldier Arrested in Akkar

Security forces arrested on Sunday a Syrian officer suspected of having defected from the Syrian army, reported the National News Agency.
It said that the forces arrested Alaa Issam Mohammed at a checkpoint in the northern Akkar town of Shadra near the border with Syria.
He has since been turned over to the Army Intelligence.

Need more info. If he has been arrested because he defected to Al Nusra or IS or he brought his arms into Lebanon, then this is a legitimate arrest. If not, then those responsible for the arrest should be reprimanded. Either way, it is illegal to turn him over to the Syrian regimE.

who made you a legal authority to decide in which cases the army can act? you bunch pretend to support the lebanese army, but at the first occasion you slander it. they certainly know what they are doing, and if they arrest deserters it must be their mandate. the army does not act randomly and without just cause.

Definitely not you So-called Mowaten. Under international law, it is not permissible to return someone to a country where that person will face torture or worse. I am not the one that slander the army - it is you and those like you!! The army is an instrument of the government and when you supported the invasion of the capital and overthrow of a government - that is treason. I support the army in as much as it is protecting the nation and executing the orders of the legitimate political authority of the country.
