Zoaiter Family Member Killed in Clash with Army in Fanar as Man Shot Dead in Akkar
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةA clash broke out on Friday between the army and a suspect wanted on drug dealing charges, reported the National News Agency, as a man was killed and four other were hurt, including two troops, in a shooting in Akkar.
NNA said that the shootout erupted between a security patrol and Murad Zoaiter as he was being chased in al-Zoaiteriyeh neighborhood in al-Fanar.
He was wounded in the clash and later transferred to Mar Youssef Hospital in Dora where he died from his injuries “despite the intense medical care he received,” added NNA.
In an official statement, the army said its patrol “came under gunfire from Murad Abbas Munir Zoaiter, who is wanted on 24 arrest warrants over theft, assault and drug dealing offenses.”
“The members of the patrol responded in kind,” the statement added, noting that Military Police has launched a probe into the incident.
Soon after news of his death broke out, members of his clan in al-Zoaiteriyeh fired shots and rocket-propelled grenades into the air.
The military arrived at the scene to contain the tensions.
Meanwhile, residents of al-Zoaiteriyeh told al-Jadeed television that they reject any clashes with the army.
They deemed Zoaiter's death as an “assassination because the members of the army carried out a dirty operation, fleeing the scene without transporting him to hospital.”
They accused the “gang of the army intelligence, led by Khaled Abou Ali, of killing Zoaiter,” reported al-Jadeed.
“We will not remain silent and we will not receive Zoaiter's corpse before the arrest of Abou Ali,” demanded the residents.
They said that the victim was wanted on shooting offenses.
Clashes have frequently erupted between the army and members of the Zoaiter family in the Zoaiteriyeh area in its pursuit of wanted suspects.
Separately, NNA said gunfire erupted near an army checkpoint in the al-Sadaqa area in the northern region of Jurd Akkar.
The shooting resulted in the death of B. M. and the wounding of M. S. D. and A. B. in addition to two soldiers, the agency added.

strange, everybody knows the zoiaters are the backbone of ashraf el neis except for mowaten:))
hehehe! mowaten would not know who the zoiatirs were/are or what/who ashraf al nass are because he is secular and does not think along sectarian lines like most people do;)
lol @exfpm
this lowlife gotta be the lowest scumbag humanity has ever known. He pours his filth and hatred on every article every day and has the nerve to accuse others of what he really is. Wars are a necessary evil to rid humanity of parasites such as him.
bless anyone person, entity, organization, brigade or country that inflicts pain and suffering, death, torture, and destruction upon the iranian sectarian terrorist militia and its members, supporters or followers wherever they may be.
Alright, let's see your Iranian counterparts come on here and say they are with the Army. Drug charges??? who knew...
I'm happy justice was served, I'm saying you're a hypocrite and a manipulator. Specially when you're loyalty is elsewhere :)
Kinda like you assuming i'm M14 or a Zionist :), case in point with the manipulation on your part.
you dont make any sense. i take it you have nothing to say but still felt the urge to say something.
you are a a farsi khomeini mowaten and it's not an assumption, it's not an observation, it is a FACT.
your definition of "fact" says it all about yourself.
and btw, everybody knows you are elemental and another dozen accounts, it's very cheap of you to "back" yourself up with fake accounts. pathetic even.
of course mowaten I am elemental and a dozen others. I am the one who was caught red handed posting as crusher, cityboy, etc.
more lies eaglyawn? first i was never "cityboy" and second i was never "caught red handed". i created "crusher" out of a joke and made it explicit it was me.
and you never posted simultaneously as crusher:)) It's ok mowaten we pity you. Have to go now, sorry I have a life.
no as a matter of fact i didnt. bye, and congrats on your life, i guess we wont be seeing you 24/7 here anymore then.
Oh Eagle! We're the same...what? Ok Mowaten, we get it, you're trying to deviate from your dear friend FT and his many fake accounts, funny how you're both manipulative like that...funny yet sad at the same time.
yes the zoiaters and meqdads are their own separate army. They grow hashish, sell narcotics, and kidnap Turkish pilots right under the nose of the noble resistance.
The Islamic Republic of Iran condemns this barbaric act by the LAF and considers it a hostile heinous crime against the Zoiater clan. The Zoiater clan are an extension of the resistance and the Republic consider him a martyr and will bestow Iranian citizenship upon him.
humm i did not realize that the jaafars are rifi's protégés but apparently they are, flamethrower knows best
I don't want a rampaging militia to be my savior, but a convicted criminal instead? Holy cow we're doomed.
Soon after news of his death broke out, members of his clan in al-Zoaiteriyeh fired shots and rocket-propelled grenades into the air.
What makes Zoaiteriyeh different than some parts of Arsal? Nothing. They both do not belong in Lebanon
The army should wipe out all forms of militancy and betrayals within our society.
Sorry to hear this news Movaten and Southern. Hopefully Flamers adopted Meqdads won't be next.
The army communique is the true version, and anything else is pretexts to cover up. Al-Zoaiteriyeh and some notable areas of Lebanon need to understand that things are changing in Lebanon, the army mood is shifting more towards being impartial than being influenced by any side it may be. The Z3ayterr clan yesterday had no right parading carrying weapons or shooting into the air, that simply defeated any position they might have had towards exonerating themselves. A thug who has so much hanging on his head cannot be exonerated as they said, he is as guilty as hell, then whoever shoots at the army, the army has every right to return fire. The residents of Al-Zoaiteriyeh must understand that their repeated acts of bravado and of intimidation is only alienating people from them, and to be honest, most people in Lebanon now carry as much weapons as them, so no need for all this Ramboesque display, time to respect the law.
