Gemayel Says Syrian Infiltration into Border Towns Unacceptable

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel stressed on Saturday that his party’s position on the Syrian infiltration into the Lebanese territories in the eastern Bekaa valley is a matter of principle.

“Sovereignty can’t be divided, it’s either complete or doesn’t exist, especially if a non-Lebanese army enters the Lebanese border and assault peoples’ privacy,” Gemayel said.

In a second incident this week, Syrian troops entered the outskirts of Arsal village on Thursday and shot dead a Syrian national living there.

Earlier this week, Syrian tanks entered the same region in a brief incursion that raised fears of the revolt against the regime in Damascus spilling over into Lebanon.

Gemayel added: “this is not acceptable, under any circumstances.”

He noted that the position of the party “comes from its historical constants and convictions.”

Concerning the fear over Christians’ existence in the East, Gemayel said “no doubt there are some concerns on them, but the question remains how to deal these fears.”

He wondered what other alternative is there for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon probing the assassination of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri “We have no other choice since they don’t trust the Lebanese judiciary, how will the families of the martyrs know who killed their sons or relatives?”

The major problem with the Lebanese people is that you all talk the talk but will never walk the walk. Come election time, you will all go back and elect the same rotten leaders of the different parties/religions and use the famous comment "cho badna naamel". Well the way I see it you deserve it. You elect them then keep your mouth shut and live by their ruling and opinions. No but or if, all the lebanese politicians are rotten to the bone, power and money and tribal thinking dominate the Lebanese land, east to west and north to south.

Cheikh Amine should understand that the " incursion " would be " unacceptable " only if Syria and Lebanon were two separate countries which they aren't .

The colonial western imperialists divided Syrian unfairly but as the magnificent President Hafez Assad said we are still one people .

I am pissed off too! In total agreement get rid of all the shit leaders we have and do it now! We need to be like the Arab spring too but unfortunately we will be last as usual! It is the farm mentality we have

Maronite Brutality from scum like gemayel: "From Lebanon, he boasts, young right-wing Christian soldiers sent him jars of human ears, packed in formaldehyde."

What is unacceptable is for cheikh Amin 3al Fashal to continue at the head of what used to be the most populous parties in the history of Lebanon that he has shrunk down to only 3 members: himself as Amin 3al Fashal al Da2em, Damsel Sami and Damsel Potato Nadim. If things continue the way they have been, they will end up with a party of two, with the Potato joining the other party of thugs and hoodlums, the Lebanese Farces.

@Le Phenicien u absolutely disgust me. How dare you call Lebanon and Syria one nation. If u believe this, get out of our country and go and live with those dogs across the border. Where is your Lebanese nationalism, ur pride? What about all those martyrs who fell in the name of this nationalism, Bachir gemayel, Rafik Hariri GEBRAN TUENI. Do you even know what sort of atrocities Hafez al Assad did to the Lebanese people?? Do you know what the Mukhabarat did to the Lebanese people. Murders, assasinations, torturings. I am so ashamed that u call urself Le PHENICIEN - it should be Le Syrian. Get some Lebanese pride. We are not Syrian, we are not Arab, we are not Muslim and we are not Christian; WE ARE LEBANESE

Since 1950s there has been always Syrian greed and attacks/battles at the borders between the two countries, ask your fathers and granddads about history. When the Lebanese fishermen in Tripoli are fishing in LEBANESE water they get shot at by the Syrian navy, when the israelis approach the borders and cross the green line, the Leb Army send them warning shots, we need the same Army to do the same on all borders, otherwise someone is not doing their jobs because they are closing their eyes on arm smuggling into and out of Lebanon. If Hizbo rockets are defective and being returned to Iran due to a recall then who is monitoring these operations? Is it on Qahwaji US visit to do list to get border night vision aids to the Leb Army to control the borders more effectively? as he is not getting Mirkava or tanks from the US but should be smart on his wish list.

le phenicien

maybe we have syrian war information department also

Thumb james 09 October 2011, 06:08

@jabalamel it is so good to see that you have pride in your country. I found Le Pheniciens comment appaling and offensive, and to write a comment like that to a person who is normally ur ally is noble . Thanks for showing some pride in your country.

The first comment is mine , not the filty second one , speaking about one nation and so on .. There is an imposter on Naharnet and the administrator knows that and knows him or her . I totally disagree with what he wrote .

Lets Integrate!

@jabalamel...

I was touched by your comment to Le Phenicien,.. thubms up to you... knowing you are in support of Lebanon as an independent country goes a long way... seems we just differ on what type of Lebanon we wish for, but I remain puzzled why you have no problems with Persian and Syrian involvment in our country...

Default-user-icon Syrian (Guest) 09 October 2011, 11:58

We as Syrians do not want anything to do with integration of any people or geographies. Don't mix Hafez il Jahsh and his murderous mafia with the aspirations of the Syrian people. Yes we're all for economic, tourist and other forms of agreements that improve the livelihoods of both people but we're not for the domination of one country over the other. We believe that we should all work together for a better future in the region but as INDEPENDENT countries.

To the right wingers on this forum, while I can understand your frustration and hatred of the Syrian regime given what it did to Lebanon over the past 3 decades, do not mix the illegitimate Syrian mafia with the people of Syria as the past 7 months proved that we are completely separate. Our history as a country did not start when Hafez il Jahsh came into power, our history is 7000 years old and should not be forgotten.

God Bless a Free Syria and Lebanon free from all Ayotallah Filth.

to the 'self proclaimed Mehdy' - AKA Le Phenicien,

Sometime I wonder what would my life be without your entertaining comments...keep them coming matey!

Missing rudy 09 October 2011, 14:28

I wouldnt give these comments much attention. le phenicien is a troll who has nothing better to do and enjoys annoying people. trust me no human being is that stupid.

it is also very likely that phenicien and jabal amel and all the other brainless posters of the kind are the same person...

sad.. i used to enjoy reading comments when they slightly resembled a civilized argument. (which rarely happened anyway).
now its only childish posts by the likes of that baboon phenicien

people people, you are missing the key question involved here...
DID THEY OR DID THEY NOT CUT A TREE....
As it seems the key tothe reaction is cutting the tree.

Default-user-icon eli (Guest) 09 October 2011, 15:01

Le phenicien, you mean the two countries become one big Lebanon.
interesting idea............BUT HELL NO.

Default-user-icon eli (Guest) 09 October 2011, 15:12

Le Phenicien, deviding syria into smaller ethnic countries maybe the outcome of what is beeing planned there now. Adding Lebanon to syria is not in the equation. Although, I dont mind Lebanon annexing that strip of syria that is on the mediteranian with gas and oil beeing discovered there, wouldn't that be nice. And then I woke up.

Thumb geha 09 October 2011, 15:38

@mjabalamel
for once it is refreshing to see a patriotic comment from yours side.
I join my voice to hope that you will reject the syro/iranian influence in Lebanon soon.

So jabal amel you agree with le phenicien when he posts racism such as calling for slaughtering of muslims, and when he uses dirty language, when he insults orthodox etc? Your only offended by him now? And not after all the other stuff he writes?

@ Censor or Moderator at Naharnet. You must be so biased towards M8 that you just can't help yourself deleteing posts left and right that don't agree with your personal M8 views. Your masters, Nasarallah, Bashar, Aoun and Suleiman Franjieh must be so proud to have a plant like you at an M14 newspapers manually deleting posts.

Too bad you are wasting your time though. We are not stupid.

Eureka, I found out who le phenicien really is, ha ha can't stop laughing, 66yrs old guy which makes his comments even more pathetic.

Mais quand meme à ton age, toutes ces années a insulter des gens sur naharnet, t'as pas honte??? meme tes petits enfants doivent avoir honte
