Rifi Says Hizbullah Members Linked to Global Corruption, Money Laundry Cases

Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi revealed on Monday that a number of Hizbullah members around the world are involved in corruption and money laundering cases, pointing out that several were detained in Lebanon on the same charges.

“A number of cases have been unveiled related to Hizbullah's illegal activity and evading custom fees and taxes in Beirut's port and airport,” Rifi said in an interview with the Saudi newspaper al-Watan.

The minister expressed fear over the uncontrolled activity of Hizbullah in Lebanon, citing judicial cases against the party's members around the world, which are linked to corruption crimes and money laundering.

Asked about the cooperation between Riyadh and Lebanon to extradite Hizbullah members in Saudi Arabia, who are suspected of carrying out illegal activity on behalf of the party, Rifi described it as “firm.”

“Today, cooperation is close with the Saudi judicial authorities and the country's mission in Beirut... our hands will always be extended to the Saudis just like their hands have always been extended to us,” the minister, who is affiliated to al-Mustaqbal Movement, remarked.

Hundreds of Lebanese, mostly Shiite Muslims, have been quietly deported from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in 2013 after Hizbullah joined Syrian government forces in Syria's civil war.

The Gulf Cooperation Council — which includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and the UAE — has said the bloc would crack down on Hizbullah members as part of a joint effort to limit the group's "financial and business transactions."

Hizbullah says the group has no business interests in the Gulf. However, there are more than half a million Lebanese working in the Gulf states, including tens of thousands in Saudi Arabia. Many are Shiites.

Shiite-Sunni tensions have been on the rise in the Middle East with increasing sectarian violence in Syria, Iraq and Yemen. Gulf states are also worried about the rise of Shiite Iran's influence throughout the Arab world.

Rifi is linked to global takfirism. Effectively letting Nusra & ISIS flourish in Tripoli & Arsal and elsewhere.

@flamethrower
"aipac stooges like you"
"this is what you're paid to do after all"
"BTW it must be 3 in the morning in texas, please stop reminding everyone that you got no life. i'm almost pitying you.."
These are called ad hominem logical fallacies
It's a way of putting down the person you're arguing against because you don't have much to argue back.
I'm neither M8 nor M14
But I would like to point out that a good way to win an argument is by actually presenting reasonable evidence and arguments instead of attacking the person speaking.
For example, you would show that the Hezbollah-Amal takeover of Beirut in May 2008 had nothing to do with the airport guy, by presenting your arguments and evidence.
Otherwise, all you do is show you don't have much to argue with and you alienate the people you are communicating with and those reading your comments. It makes you look bad.

Southern, I believe that almost anyone here with a sane mind fiercely opposes Al Nusra and IS, please let's not doodle with that fact anymore. Now where it comes to Hezbollah's proscribed activities around the world, good folks like you should not deny a glaring fact that literally everyone knows, Hezbollah funds and actively support illicit activities all around the world. Now that Iran's economy is truly shaky and the US plus its western allies are imposing tougher sanctions, one by one these activities are being exposed and stopped. Even inside Lebanon, Hezbollah's room to maneuver is shrinking. Check for instance why at both Beirut port and airport goods destined to known Hezbollah importers have been kept on hold for several weeks now. Even what was once considered trivial, like your valet parking is now being given a serious competition.

So what texas.
HA needs the money to supplement the Iranian money given to it. Maintaining a huge militia with grand schemes laid out by the Khaeini requires lots of resources. It is not easy taking over Lebanon when you have factions like Mostaqbal and LF standing in the way. They did all the assassinations they could, they paid off General Aoun and played him a sa fool to facilitate further erosion of Christian power to HA and therefore Iran, So, in summary HA needs money from all sources (end justifies the means)
