Report: Mustaqbal Lines 'Will Be Open' for Dialogue with Aoun

The Mustaqbal Movement is not leaning towards boycotting any political side, declared their sources in response to Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's call on the movement to launch dialogue with Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun, reported An Nahar daily on Saturday.

The sources added: “Our lines are open and we have never boycotted anyone.”

“We have been holding talks with Hizbullah, which is our fiercest opponent,” they continued.

“Dialogue with Aoun will be open, but we are not in the process of lifting the receiver and informing him that we are going to pay him a visit,” remarked the sources.

In addition, they noted how “Aoun speaks of partnership and later orders people to appoint an individual otherwise he will reject any other proposal.”

Aoun wants his son-in-law Commando Regiment chief Brig. Gen. Chamel Roukoz to be appointed army chief.

Roukoz's tenure ends in October 2015 while the term of army commander Gen. Jean Qahwaji expires at the end of September.

Although the government has so far failed to discuss the appointments, Aoun said the Free Patriotic Movement ministers will not resign from the cabinet.

Nasrallah called Friday for a “serious dialogue” between the FPM and Mustaqbal Movement to resolve the cabinet dispute.

A dialogue with a mentally ill person is very easy and ....very fruitful...
A man who is accused to be an agent to Syria and Iran and a servant to Ebola.

Well said

Of course the Caporal must be very proud of the declarations of "little gangster" who wants to be "Khalife at the place of the Khalife"

Good one.

Whats the good of dialogue with Saad Harriri. He may have good intentions, but is not empowered to carry them out. He met on 3 separate occasions with Gen. Aoun in Paris. Their they agreed to a whole process for normalizing the situation in Lebanon and returning the solution to the Lebanese. The first was a national unity government. Aoun even convinced the rest of March 8 to except radicals like Rifi as a Minister. They agreed on a security plan which allowed the Army to clean Tripoli of Jihadists in 3 hours (they had previously been blocked from cleaning Tripoli for 3 years.

Not true. They never discussed the presidency. If they didn't agree how was government formed or security plan implemented. The problem is with security appointments because Harriri wasn't allowed to. Use your logic and not made up stuff

Missing rami.batroun 11 July 2015, 16:57

They couldn't because ibn Al ballad aka as head rifi threatened them with civil war or marid Al Sunna. Mustaqbal where using the jihadists as a card in their hands.

Missing rami.batroun 11 July 2015, 18:42

Sure. That's why an important mustaqbal security official ran away and left
The country when the army commenced doing its work.

Harriri was worried that he would be killed if he returned to Beirut. Aoun told him that he would guarantee his security. They never discussed who would be president.

Missing rami.batroun 11 July 2015, 12:16

When it came time to the security posts and other important issues, Harriri tells Aoun I cant go forward with our deal. Aoun asks why? Harriri responds "because Saud Al Faisal" wont agree to it". Then he tells Aoun give me time, but just couldn't influence the Saudi decision. Harriri is not empowered by the Saudis to Lebanonize the situation. When men make agreements, then stick to them. It seems that Aoun is the only man in this agreement.

He was the fly on the wall

Missing rami.batroun 11 July 2015, 16:59

Man this is what happened. You saw the government formed and security plan implemented. There are statements all over the media from Aoun telling us this and Harriri never refuting.

Missing rami.batroun 11 July 2015, 12:18

Saudi Arabia has no right to continually block the by far largest Christian bloc from positions and power sharing. They can go and deal with their own country. "Saud Al Faisal wont agree". Are these the comments of a real leader with solutions for the Lebanese?

We shall overcome one day

Missing rami.batroun 11 July 2015, 17:01

No one has ever asked for this mouthelethe except propaganda and lies in March 14 media. Show me one statement where Aoun or nasrallah has ever suggested this and I will dance for you. You work in traditionally propaganda methods. If u say a lie enough time it becomes the truth. In this case it's simply a lie

Missing rami.batroun 11 July 2015, 17:03

Wikileaks showed us what Saudi Arabia believes. It believes it can buy anyone. Well they can't actually. Not the FPM that's for sure.

It was obvious that neither Aoun nor Geagea had the numbers in the current political climate especially after "white paper" got more votes than Geagea. It seems that a scheme was being cooked to bring another picture on the wall president. That's why FPM stopped attending sessions.

Yeah I like choices too!
