The General Security Department has confirmed the arrest of a Syrian national but said the man was seized on charges of weapons smuggling.

In a communiqué issued late Saturday, the department’s general directorate dismissed a report by Future TV that Amer Omar Adib was arrested “without any justification.”

The General Security Department arrested Adib on charges of smuggling arms between Syria and Lebanon and was referred to the judiciary after he admitted to the charges, the communiqué said.

It urged media outlets to be meticulous in their security reports to preserve their credibility and avoid stirring confusion.

Why is it a crime? Is this guy transferring arms from/to the Mossad? Was it a crime for the Mossad and Iranian regime to exchange arms against Saddam Hussein when the latter unleashed his chemical weapons on the Iranian invaders to his homeland. Is it legal to step on people bleeding in the streets even if they are evil. Is it legal to kidnap people from their homes without any official warrant and beat them to death and then throw them on the edge of the roads DAILY.
