Aoun: We Haven’t Decided if We Will Participate in Wednesday’s Cabinet Session
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةFree Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun warned on Tuesday that if the situation in Lebanon continues the way it does, then the government will collapse.
He said after the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting: “We have not yet decided if we will participate in cabinet’s session on Wednesday.”
“We will take the decision tomorrow after lunch,” he added.
“The resignation of government does not mean that the ministers will halt their duties, but they will continue their roles until a new cabinet is formed,” he stated.
“If the situation persists, then those who have been demanding the resignation of the cabinet would have been right,” Aoun noted.
On November 25, the Change and Reform ministers did not attend a scheduled cabinet session due to their “annoyance” with the way projects they have proposed had been dealt with.
The FPM leader did not indicate which line of action the bloc will take, saying that it will “make a small surprise” every once in a while.
“If the situation is so out of control, then we will step down and we can do so whenever we want,” the MP stressed.
He denied that Marada Movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh was mediating between the bloc and Prime Minister Najib Miqati in order to end the dispute.
Aoun also thanked Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s support for the Change and Reform bloc’s demands.
The party chief had stated earlier on Tuesday during the Ashura Day commemoration: “We stress the importance of the Change and Reform bloc’s demands and we urge Miqati to exercise his responsibilities.”
In an indirect reference to President Michel Suleiman, Aoun said: “Others should understand that we represent the people and we will not hand over power to those who don’t have proper representation.”
“We are working for the whole of Lebanon and they should protest whenever we discriminate against anyone,” he remarked.
Sarcastically addressing the government, Aoun asked: “What has it done in six months besides fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon under French and American warnings?”

Aoun: Those who have admitted defeat are demanding that Hizbullah lay down its arms. The party will not disarm and those waiting for it to happen will die before the party takes such a step.

Aoun: There are hundred procedures that should be considered before we decide to take part in Wednesday’s session. MP Suleiman Franjieh is not mediating between us and the Grand Serail.

Aoun: The people have the right to scorn on me if I step down for personal reasons. We will not leave power, but they will.

Aoun: We thank Hizbullah chief Nasrallah for his support of our demands. We will list the government’s accomplishments from now on. What has this government done in six months besides the funding of the STL?

FPM leader MP Michel Aoun after Change and Reform bloc weekly meeting: We have not yet decided if we will participate in cabinet’s session on Wednesday.
We are back at square one it seems. they are admitting the following:
- the government has done nothing so far (as we were repating) :)
- they lost a battle with funding the STL (forced on them by russia and syria)
- they are fealing increased pressure to give up their arms, and they are quite nervous about it.
so they are dreaming of resigning? they will lose the government for sure this time round. what is left for them is a military coup.
Is it Tuesady again? Blah blah blah, waa waa waa.........we are upset no one is paying attention to us. We might not be at the meeting. Why don't you quit the gov't already???
How amazing this aoun is! he is trouble if he is in or out of government because his nature is confrontational. I really can't read his mind because it's twisted and lacks rationality.
He's always at odds with everybody. But what amazes me is how come he's still having a large party of MPs? Either this is due to the stupidity of many Christians who support him or to the support he receives from Nasrallah for siding with him and being his slave and puppet.
In either one, he lacks common sense and is playing with fire and with the existential fate of the Christians in Lebanon who are fighting for their existence.
I used ti think that people mature and become wiser with age, but as I grow older I am rending to believe that this was a myth.
I came to the conclusion that lebanon will always be in the wind with all regional parties using it to their end. I am also of the opinion that lebanon could have been better than switzerland if we knew how to preserve it and protect it.
Let me get this right!
You mean that the government that has failed to do anything in the many months it's been in power might not meet tomorrow? And that's a scary thought because?
Who takes you seriously anymore? you said you will never fund the STL bla bla bla.. and then you funded.
And the government succeeded in abducting free Syrians and sending them back to the Nazi torture chambers
What he said:
Aoun: We Haven’t Decided if We Will Participate in Wednesday’s Cabinet Session.
What he meant:
Sayyed Hassan Has Not Decided if We Will Participate in Wednesday’s Cabinet Session When He Does He Will Tell Us.
could someone explain? he is in a gvt that he wanted, no M14 to annoy him, only his friends and still is asking if he is going to work or not?
could someone explain what does this puppet want?
@sweaty thing
One law project blocked by M14 at the parliament please... (except for the amendements done to the EDL project)?????
