Charbel: Ghosn to Inform Cabinet About Army Probe into Qaida Presence in Arsal
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةInterior Minister Marwan Charbel said that Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn will inform the cabinet on Wednesday about the investigations carried out by the army over the alleged presence of al-Qaida members in the eastern border town of Arsal.
In remarks to Voice of Lebanon radio station (93.3), Charbel said that Ghosn’s allegations about the operations of al-Qaida fighters in the Arsal area should be “taken into consideration.”
The issue should be put as a priority on the cabinet agenda, he said.
“The army is investigating the information that Minister Ghosn had unveiled and he will inform us about it tomorrow during the cabinet session,” Charbel added.
He stressed there is continued cooperation between the army and the residents of Arsal and the remaining towns on the border with Syria.
Ghosn said Monday that his announcement about the operations of al-Qaida was not based on speculation. On the contrary, the minister said he had received “information” which he believed was useful to inform the public about.
So far this government never informed us about anything!
We were never informed about who threw the Antelias grenades, who kidnapped the Estonians, who kidnapped the Liban Lait factory Manager, who launched the missiles in southern Lebanon, who shot nefaa employees, etc...
It seems that the answers are always inconvenient to our government...
You know I was unsure of the new government. But you have to admit, they have done a great job in the last 3 months as much as much as the previous government did in 2 years.
Really. Let's not only criticize. It's easy to tap on your tablet or keyboard and criticize. They've done an ok job to date. I just hope they maintain Lebanon's safety especially with what's happening around us.
Will the honorable minister also inform the cabinet and the public about the presence of Iranian military personnel from Al Qods and the revolutionary guards in the south and the bekaa areas? Oh, sorry they no longer need visas. They are simply "ideological" tourists!
@zouzou
What government are you talking about? Lebanese cityzens are getting killed on the border, the syrian regime abducts people in our country, missiles are fired from our border, people are being spoiled form their land, the syrian army violates our sovereignty, our economy is at the lowest, ther are more and more firearms related incidents, tourism is dropping,etc, etc... This government has not been able to implement one decision without a fight from within! They have no opposition, yet they agree to nothing! Your internet got better!? Big deal, cellular lines are aweful! The administration is as rotten as it has always been, and the censorship is worse than ever! What are their achievements ya zouzou??
