Hariri Says Assassination ‘Rumors’ Began by Broadcasts on BlackBerry

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri said on Monday that reports that he had escaped an assassination attempt were only news broadcasted through BlackBerry phones.
He said on Twitter that he will not “give any more information” about those allegations.
Hariri denied on Friday what he said was a “rumor” of a failed attempt on his life in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
“This is a political fabrication. Part of what they think is psychological warfare against us. Well, it doesn't and will never work,” he added.
Asked by a twitter user about his return to Lebanon, Hariri said it’s a risk he’s willing to take.
He stated that if the cabinet refused to renew the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s protocol, it will be discussed at the appropriate time.
A controversy erupted in Lebanon on whether the cabinet will approve the renewal of the STL’s protocol in March as United Nation chief Ban Ki-moon is scheduled to visit the country on January 13.
Concerning the developments in Syria, Hariri said that the Arab League should have sought the United Nation’s help on the matter.
An Arab League ministerial committee meeting decided on Sunday to give the observer mission the green light to carry on pledging to boost the number of monitors.
“God help the Syrian people… but they will be free soon God’s willing,” Hariri noted.
He stressed that the Syrian regime will collapse soon without forcing the country into a “civil war.”

Sahih Muslim Volume 6, Chapter 31, Hadith No. 3788:
Zaid bin Arqam, narrated that the messenger of Allah . said: "Indeed, I am leaving among you, that which if you hold fast to them, you shall not be misguided after me. One of then is greater than the other: (First is) The book of Allah is a rope extended from the sky to the earth, and (the second is) my family, the people of my house (ahlul bait), and they shall not split until they meet me at the hawd, so look at how you deal with them after me."
