Britain Says Hizbullah Offering Support to 'Tyrant' Assad
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةBritish Prime Minister David Cameron on Wednesday accused Hizbullah and its main regional ally Iran of supporting the Syrian regime's violent crackdown on the country's uprising.
Cameron told lawmakers in the House of Commons that both were offering backing to Syrian President Bashar Assad.
"Britain needs to lead the way in making sure we tighten the sanctions, the travel bans, the asset freezes, on Syria," Cameron said.
"In terms of who is actually helping the Syrian government to oppress their people, there is now growing evidence that Iran is providing a huge amount of support," he noted.
"People should also know that Hizbullah is also an organization that is standing up and supporting this wretched tyrant who is killing so many of his own people."
Thousands have been killed in Syria's crackdown on the 10-month-old uprising, and Cameron has pledged to press for tougher international sanctions — despite opposition from Russia and China.
Cameron is seeking a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning the violence.
In August, Hizbullah denied a French media report accusing the party of being involved in the killing of Syrian soldiers who had refused to shoot at anti-regime protesters.
“Hizbullah has already released several statements denying the accusations launched by some Syrian dissidents and some other parties about Hizbullah’s involvement in the events taking place in Syria, and its statements had always stressed its keenness on Syria and its leadership, people and institutions and its wishes as to reaching solutions that meet the aspirations of all Syrians regarding reform and stability,” the party said.
“Hizbullah’s response to the claims circulated by these dissidents stems from its keenness on clarifying the picture and preventing the Arab and international public opinion from being misled by some individuals who are seeking to gain the support of the international conspiracy against the forces of resistance and defiance in the region,” it noted.
of course they are involved... are they going to let their best ally without doing nothing? why are pro assad demonstrators waving hezbi flags then? a former high responsible in the regime said that hezb and amal were helping shabbiha torture and beat people...
totally agere "for sure". moreover in the videos we only see normal people demonstrating , no bearded people, no claim for a muslim state! this excuse of muslim brotherhood taking the country is just propaganda to make people afraid and scared of nasty ferocious muslims ben laden style!
the people want their freedom! while M8 applauded the other revolutions they deny the syrians to do the same... double standards as usual....
Mowrotten,
I am one of the snipers that Hezbofeces has employed to shoot syrian citizen terrorists. Don't lie to people , this is not the place for taqqiya. Tell the truth like our beloved hassoon the racoon told us to. Every day I shoot ten fifteen sunnis and let me tell you, I love it.
Mowaten why do you waste your time on these idiots. I heard it all. Let Syria out and we will be fine. They forgot we invited it in and we kicked it out. But Lebanon, still in the same shit will always be. No matter who rules. There is no true leader in Lebanon. If there is, must be a saint. Syria shit all over Lebanon for years, now it needs the assistance of Hizballah to attack its people. What a bunch of idiots to believe that. And nahr el Bared was done by Syria, but Syria was the only country to give Lebanon weapons and ammo to fight them. Don't take my word for it, go ask someone was involved in the fight. Does any of you know the civil war started in Lebanon, and who to benefit from it. And the idiots who fell for it. Even now they would repeat the same mistake. And you say Lebanese are very smart. I can see from reading these comments, if armed you would start it in a heartbeat, or maybe I am wrong, you are just bunch of dogs who like to just bark.
@mowaten... Since when do we trust anything coming from the CIA, let alone a retired member? Talk about double standards. Some of your conclusions are very far fetched and all sweeping and for someone who claims to be level-headed, you are lacking it in this post... It is the politics of convenience that your leader has so brillantly (and much to his demise) exhibited and continues to. You are just another pretender like he is... "Go play in front of your house"!
Britain, the US, France and the rest of the immoral West are offering more than support to Israel, the most criminal of all, and also to tyrants in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia just as they did with the tyrants in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya.
In this turban you will find
My lips planted on assads behind
A kiss for dinejad and khamaneii
And a bottle of hajj radwans pee
Mowrotten,
Love that you quote a CIA operative, thats because at last count there were twenty agents who infiltrated you. Mohammad Raad 's real name is Spongebob Squarepants from Langley Virginia.hahahhahah
What a douchebag you are
people would be naive to think that syrian closest ally would stand still and do nothing to help the terrorist regime...
it s so laughable
Bashar and his father are wretched tyrants, and history will condemn them. Hopefully Bashar will meet the same fate as Gaddafi, sooner than later. Killing your own people in the 21st century is inacceptable. Only fanatic people, and terrorists sympathyse with such regimes.
@Theamerican. We know that you are the one and same mowaten! It is easy to sit on the fence and criticize everyone. If you want to be serious, then post otherwise and Like I told you "go play in front of your house, ya walad"!
The Hezz will be found to have shabiha on the streets and brigades in the field once the war starts. They are not magic, they will die like everyone else, and Nasrallah will be proven to be a liar like always. He will know his turn is coming.
My question is when the civil war starts in Syria, will Israel attack the Hezz and make them fight a 2 front war with no re-supply?
I have a dream that one day the Lebanese will unite under the flag and sing the national anthem in tandem. I have a dream that one day we judge each other kindly and disagree with civility. Lets us not tear each other down (our politicians do great job at that), but rather build each other up. "But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison."

Bashar's wife is British so I am hoping Cameron will strip her citizenship and offer it to Galioun or the other heroes fighting the ruthless regime.
Purpose: stoke the sunni-Shia problems and lead them a step closer to war. And does anyone around tells this British guy that his evil empire was the one that started this whole problem in the middle east when they gave palestine to the zionists?
Big Muslims are bearded, as the big christians are, as the jewish are also bearded. Having a beard doesnt make u a terrorist. This person Cameron just speaking on the behalf of Lebanese people shows the great cedar country all the problems it faces. Not much of the problems are base in Lebanon, they are made up by Syria, Iran, America, Israel, Britain.
I cant understand whats so special about a 4 million person country thats the size of a poohole in the world. If hezballah wanted to unstable Lebanon it can just with one bullet but its not. I think its time the Lebanese people unite and fix their own problems with ideas and not weapons. And if these whit people wanted to fix your country, they would feed the military with money and make them more powerful than any group in lebanon. however they cant even fix their own problems at home

In america people protested peacefully, the police forced them out. imagine these people were holding weapons, wouldnt the americans do the same as the syrian regime? becareful what you wish for.
People, EVEN IF hezbollah was involved, Britain is one of the last to talk about freedom or tyranny. They bombarded Libya to remove Ghadafi because he was way weaker than Bachar, his population is mostly sunnite, and turned fast against him, and another thing : OIL, yes OIL, new contracts with this joke of a governement rebels of Libya, that did nothing but take pictures and shoot birds, after Nato bombarded the areas of Ghadafi fighters. Now Bachar is different, he has minorities like christians and druze backing him mostly and alawites. as well as alot of chemical and biological weapons. interfering there would be a huge mistake because all the middle east will be on fire. And the west knows that, they just want him to get weakened by a major civil war, and attack Iran. So like i said, and always say, Britain, if hezb is helping Syria, what are you gonna do about it ? exept talk.
I am tired of hearing bullshit from the West , always putting sanctions. Sanctions is the same thing as war but " diplomatically " and if it doesnt work , they go to war. So better off prepare for war or shut up. I dont like Iran or Syria but my god how i despise western bullshit talk and changing always sides . I bet you if Syria could hold ( but i dont think it will and ddont want it to hold to bachar, but to be free ) they would come back on their positions, give Syria greetings and Iran as well. Sell again March 14th in Lebanon, and give the country to the Hezb once in for all. How come british aid from the foreign ministry met not long ago with the Hezb? hypocrits. you dont give two damn about Lebanon or any other country if it does not have ressources.
Mowrotten,
I think you spend far too much time squeezing hassounas horn, ;) and too little time smelling his turban. The stench has arisen from Dahieh and is blowing everywhere ( like your momma) . Yalla hallop, and let me continue sniping little sunni kids in syria. Nabil Qaouk abou Shish Taouk wants his cyber rats back for more instructions tonight. Or you wont collect your 250$ a month salary and you wont be able to put fuel in your mobillette. Yalla whisht
