Four Soldiers Killed in Hunt for 'Terrorist', Army Says
The Lebanese army said on Monday that four of its troops were killed while attempting to arrest a suspected "terrorist" at his north Lebanon home.
The soldiers were trying to detain Khaled al-Tallawi, who heads a "militant cell" behind the August 21 murder of two police officers and the son of the mayor of Kaftoun village in the country's north, the army said.
Tallawi opened fire and lobbed a hand grenade at the troops who raided his home in the Beddawi area near the northern port city of Tripoli late Sunday, it added.
Three soldiers were killed on the spot while another was severely wounded and later succumbed to his injuries.
The army said that Tallawi was later shot dead after soldiers chased him and affiliated militants in a hunt that lasted into the early hours of Monday morning.
Troops are still searching for other members of Tallawi's cell, the army said.
Lebanese security forces have been chasing suspects over the Kaftoun murders for weeks.
Police had already arrested a suspect in the Beddawi camp for Palestinian refugees near the northern port city of Tripoli, the day after the killings.

The Palestinian refugees are in lebanon because your state stole their land and kicked them out. It is their right to return to their land so don't try to move the popular opinion to change so we agree to the naturalization. We know thats what israel wants so they/you don't have to fear the real people of the land returning to their homes that you foreigners stole.

S.o.s the palestinians are not any more troublemakers than the lebanese or even the european jews when put in similar conditions. We could see clearly what the jews did as soon as they got a chance. Whenever a group of people is put in ghettos, ptsd, hopelessness, criminality and more will be the result. The jews in the ghettos did criminal things as well. If lebanon had a fuctioning state then disarming the camps in exchange for giving better opportunities to the refugees without naturalization would have been negotiated a long time ago.

The thug PLO was backed by arab and lebanese leaders, it was all a major game that happened to play out in lebanon. You say wherever they (the refugees) went they effed up but in reality they built jordan from scratch and they also contributed a lot to lebanon, its just that you know those palestinians as 'lebanese' because they were the ones who were given lebanese citizenship. The Palestinians in the US, the gulf and elsewhere where the system cherishes opportunities are middle and upper class. Those who ended up in refugee camps/ghettos never got a strong opportunity to contribute just like the lebanese who grew up in poor areas yet most arent causing harm. Besides, terror cells in lebanon always have lebanese in them, including this one so grow up and stop pointing fingers. Lebanon is a mess because of lack of accountability and finger pointing.
