Hizbullah Urges Cabinet to Seriously Resolve Electricity Crisis

Hizbullah urged the cabinet on Wednesday to assume its responsibilities and seriously resolve the electricity crisis that caused severe rationing throughout Lebanon.

“Citizens are experiencing a severe electricity crisis” during harsh winter conditions, according to a statement issued by the party.

It said that resolving this crisis is the cabinet’s duty.

However, Hizbullah noted that “the crisis can’t fall on the shoulders of a specific ministry,” blaming previous governments for the problem.

Energy Minister Jebran Bassil has on several occasions blamed certain parties without naming them for the delay in the implementation of his projects after he was blamed for the power cuts.

On Tuesday, he urged citizens who are suffering from severe rationing to demonstrate and demand their rights.

Hizbullah’s statement stressed that the electricity crisis poses dangerous economic and social threats.

“The cabinet as a whole… should assume its responsibility and resolve this crisis through establishing the required credits and implementing the adopted plan,” the statement added.

The residents of several areas in Lebanon have been demonstrating against power cuts by blocking roads with burning tires.

we all know what is behind this issue: Basil wants the money and the government is refusing to give it to him as long as he does not abide by the agreement for this law.
stop trying to fool the people and ask your dog to do what has been agreed.

There is a reason why there are serious electricity rationings. Because Shiites don't pay their bills.

So HZB, you don't want to pay your bills and you want the government to provide 24/7 electricity, and if they don't you want to protest. Wow. This is really messed up.

I have an idea.......the Shia could pay for their electricity. Then their would be no crisis.

After that, every Lebanese can get a free ride in Bassil's new private plane.

Your corruption is a failure to this nation, you have failed to protect the Lebanese Syrian borders and the Lebanese who were killed by the Syrian regime, you have failed to provide us with the electricity like you have promised, lies and more lies to the entire nation is nothing but terrorism and hijacking to what we have build over the years.

Why don't they use all the money they get from Iran to build a power plant instead of getting weapons?

Never mind, they would have to pay for electricity but not the weapons.

Hezballah are startled and are just waking up at the very expensive incompetence they paid so much for with their hard earned Iranian cash and are wondering if instead of buying off Michel Aoun and his entourage back in 2005 they'd invested in the more stable and rewarding Greek government bonds.

Isn´t there any records to track who is paying electricity and who is not?
It should be trackable in some way. If the case really is like that ( many shia not paying the bills) it should be brought into daylight by documents showing this.
There is no other solution. Just stating this, does not show anything.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
chu hal nekteh wlo.
More than a million humans in Dahyeh ignore how an electricity bill looks like. They rather know how to steal electricity and how to intimidate EDL employees when requesting invoices.

Why are you that pissed off? Aren't the burned tyres on airport road giving you enough light? Use it to warm food! It works!

funny how hezb is now asking to solve the electricity problem now... they never said a word about it before!
a such small country as lebanon is unable in the 21st century to solve this problem which proves how INEFFICIENT the lebanese politicians are...
or rather how greedy they are because they benefit from this crisis that has never been solved in 21 years!
didnt this gvt claim to be one sided and united last year? didn t they give lessons to M14 gvt on how to manage a country and make reforms??

it seems they are just a bunch of inefficient and irresponsible politicians who are just waiting the outcome of the syrian crisis to do somethg, if they ll ever do somethg positive for the citizens!

lebanese are soooo nice with them , politicians are lucky to govern such a country where no one does a thing and are fatalists... they deserve then not to have anything!
all sheeps just waiting for the orders of their leaders to say or do something....

The flag of the M'tweili does not scare anyone anymore. Pay your bills and stop living like beggars. You have bankrupted the nation.

Syria is going down and we will be brothers with the new Syrian regime.

Where is the PROOF that shia's don't pay the electricity bills. Just because some people keep saying they don't pay there electriciyt bills doesn't make it true. Whree is the proof

Seems all of you here only look at the problem from one side. Yes, Dahye doesn't pay electricity, That's out of the law. But what about Palestinian camps? a lot of regions in Bekaa, Even in Beirut, jounieh, and so on... What about Hotels (not to name which ones),where controllers get bribes to change the counters?? Why do you always have to take one side, because of your narrow minded opinions?? What about 90% of deputees who don't pay? What about when Sanyoura was in charge of the finance ministry,Billions of dollars where evaporated? ahhh??? khalsouna ba2a into bi lebnen bit ne2o, nshalla tdallo 3al sham3a, la netda7ak 3aleykon...Yes, only Dahyeh doesn't pay, whereas all others are saints( 2el 3ededet 7aram mish mal3oub fiyon). IGNORANTS!

when you have product that is not produced enough you will have a mafia blossoming in front of your eyes. get a loan to improve the electrical infrastructure by renovation and building more dams and you will have more then enough electricity to spread around thus no more mafia and theft :D
because if you think about it, this mafia is doing everything it can do not to allow the government not produce enough electricity by blocking projects or only allowing project that exploit financially. so what i am trying to say is.... STOP FIGHTING EACH OTHER by blaming whose fault it is where it is march 14 or march 8. every time i read the comments it always idiot this or stupid this. just try to think of ideas on how to pass the bill. btw when i say "mafia" i mean both parties; what we are reading is just a mafia war.

how about Hizbullah Urge its members to start paying their electricity bills!?
