Saudi daily slams 'Iranian-bearded' Hariri, accuses him of 'political Shiitization'

Saudi newspaper Okaz slammed Thursday former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, criticizing his "Iranian-like beard" and accusing him of "political Shiitization."

"By urging the Sunnis to boycott the parliamentary elections, Saad has done a great favor to the killers of his father. He left the elections arena to terrorist Hizbullah and to the Free Patriotic Movement at the expense of his country and his sect," Okaz said.

The daily added that "Saad today is not the same young man whose tears were wiped by Saudi Arabia after the assassination of his father in February 2005, seeing as Saad has allied with the FPM and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri."

Okaz said that Hariri must bring Lebanon back to its Arab identity, instead of "subordinating" it to Iran.

"This is your historic chance, and maybe you do not deserve it. Choose your country first and your sect second," Okaz addressed Hariri.

We Sunnis are done with all the Hariris and the political dynasties.

We expected more from leaders of Cedar Revolution that were given a clear mandate by the peaceful march and Gebran Tueni oath. Saad, Jumblat and lesser extent Geagea failed big time. Kicking Assad forces out is more difficult than disarming a criminal militia created, funded and armed by Iran. They even lost wars won by UN resolutions, sanctions and Gulf stand. Instead of focusing on CR principles, developing modernization and transparency plans, and attracting Saddr Shia, they fought for seats. Saad is worst giving invaders biggest gift in MP & president elections enabling Basij to devour Lebanon and extinguish our freedom and civility. Why not transition Future to Bahaa? Jumblat has been a disaster on all front with his misguided vision and actions. His flip-flops and deals with the devils were fatal cracks for M14. Geagea did best by selecting competent ministers and keeping CR line, but lacked in priority, strategy and appeal to Saddr’s Shia. Time for new CR!
