March 14 Slams Army ‘Raids’ in North and Links Government ‘Failure’ to Syrian Developments
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe March 14 general-secretariat criticized on Wednesday what it called a raid carried out by the Lebanese army in the northern areas bordering Syria, describing it as an abnormal deployment.
“The March 14 forces, which have continuously called for the deployment of the army on the Lebanese border with Syria to protect it along with the regions near it, its residents and the refugees, expresses regret to what happened in the areas of Akkar several days ago where a military operation took the form of a raid,” the general-secretariat said in a statement.
“This doesn’t look like any of the natural deployments that we had asked for,” it said, urging the Lebanese authorities not to link the country with the developments in Syria.
The general-secretariat described Premier Najib Miqati’s government as a “failed cabinet” and said it was “staggering at the beat of the Syrian regime’s wobble.”
It also accused it of tarnishing Lebanon’s image abroad, saying its different factions were bickering on the division of shares.
Turning to Hizbullah, the alliance’s general-secretariat said the Shiite party was putting a group of Lebanese in confrontation with all the Syrian people and “linking Lebanon’s fate with the fate of Syria’s dictatorial regime.”
It condemned the veto of Russia and China on Saturday on a U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at giving strong backing to an Arab League plan to end the Assad regime’s deadly crackdown.
It said the veto has encouraged Syrian authorities to commit more “massacres and kill hundreds of people daily.”
The general-secretariat also reiterated its support for the Syrian revolution and hailed the decision of Gulf Cooperation Countries to withdraw their ambassadors from Damascus.
On the seventh anniversary of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s Feb. 2005 assassination, it said a rally that will be held in BIEL will be a “new stage for struggle” to achieve full independence and gain sovereignty and democracy for the sake of stability.
The Army Command is so quick to attack any Lebanese that's not associated with M8 and Hizballa. The truth is that we will never forget how this so called Army stood by doing nothing and in some instances helped Hizb and Co. to attack parts of Beirut and Jabal and to destroy properties and kill follow Lebanese citizens. It is going to be a very very longtime before we trust the Army command again.
jcamerican, why all this hatred? lol
you are a simpleton and an idiot, you will NEVER learn.
I hate nobody. I am just angry of all the accusations to each other. No one is better than the other. The west really want to destroy the area, and we are letting them do it. In the name of democracy, do you think Iraq is better off than before, Tripoli, Egypt, Afghanistan, and others. Civil war in Lebanon, didn't solve anything.Israeli invasion twice, and accomplished nothing. Still the same players on their seats. Does it look like I am the one who needs to be lectured?

the salafi party is unhappy because army has prevented them to send weapons and fanatics to syria.
They call for the army deployment, then complain that it wasn't "natural".?
They call for authorities “not to link the country with the developments in Syria" but then in the same paragraph condemn China and Russia and commend the GCC for recalling their ambasadors?
This is embaressingly pathetic.
The March 8 collaborators have no choice but act on orders from the criminal Syrian regime. It's obvious what the consequences would be otherwise. The brutal Assad and co have demonstrated on many occasion what they are capable of.The March 8 are accessory to the slaughter that are taken place in Syria as we speak .Shame on the murders.
14 mars, C'est du Wahabisme sauce BLA BLA BLA. Que l'armée se déploie et dératise trafiquants, salafistes et tous hors la loi.
I will wait until I comment... For now I will just read ur stupid comments. Ado u are so proud of Australia? Well the Australian governent is against Assad and they condisder HA as Terrorist just for ur FYI but I think u already know that
Yes, I'm proud to live in Australia, A great country. Doesn't mean I agree with the government. In fact a cannot stand the current government. However, a new gov, will not change Australia's foreign policies... Which, when not concerning Asian / pacific, is the same as the u.s.. Where do you think rupert Murdoch is from? Media here has the same foreign agenda as most western media which is owned, controlled or strongly influenced by people who (for some reason:) strongly support Israel.
So what was your point again?
They want the poorly-equipped army to deploy in the South where they become sitting ducks for the Israelis. That's the kind of army deployment that these collaborators with every enemy of Lebanon want. HELL, NO.
@ No name, Ado.australia is the perfect example why Lebanese are hated in Australia. Not to forget at a Mix martial arts contest there, a lebanese who won, raised the flag of hezbollah rather than the lebanese flag, and it is well known that most Lebanese there are scum.
As for March 14th, too bad i supported them back then, nowadays, barking isnt effective, they should distance themselves from the syrian crisis, and although it is clear it was a syrian order to send the army to the north at this time, i cannot accept even if i support the free people of Syria, that my country smuggles weapons there or even hides their militias. Syria is a huge country, compared to us, and they have Turkey and Jordan as well . So let them all back off Lebanon and fight their wars elsewhere.
So most Lebanese in Australia are scum? Thank you for that insight. I will like you to know tht the vast majority of Lebanese diaspora in Australia and else were are not "scum" but successful and proud people who hold together the Lebanese economy. The "scum" you talk about are less than 30,000 (out of 500k living in oz) who live in western sydney and came between 78-82. They are mostly from Tripoli and quoting a cabinet report released 3 years ago, were mostly "poor, uneducated and with questionable hygiene". These people were dumped in one area, and they have struggled ever since to integrate.
Happy to provide you with more info if you would like... Maybe practise avoiding vomit at the beginning of your comments, because it seams you know how to finish with the right words.
to the "Braveheart le phénicien"... how about Hizbullat and co gangs, arm smuggling and drug trafficking? isn't also " hors la loi"? shouldn't the law apply to everybody? or your hatred for the sunni is what motivates you and makes you blind to see anything else?
the filthy zionist media terrorist said it won't comment, but than it repeated all the stupidities that we heard so much before
The Lebanese Army has the duty to defend national security. We should not wait until Syrians establish a base to attack from the north (like Hezbo from south) and then call for the army to demilitarize when it's too late.
Basically, the Lebanese army is shamefully collaboratig with the Baathists army killers of women and children...as simple as that. Kahwaji and the current Lebanese goveronment are a product of Syria's tutelage over Lebanon... so no one should be surprised by this action. We have called for so long for dismantling the Lebanese Army highest command and replacing it with a Pro-Lebanon Army protecting "All" regions and "All" citizens equally. That day is coming, that day is near...a bit more patience Mr Fares Souaid.. your dream of a free Lebanon is around the corner. Elie
our heroic army's performance in nahr el bared although heavily under-equipped (thanks to Syria and Hezb) in the face of hightech armed fundamentalists (thanks to Syria) .... and may I add against a red line marked by Hezb
the salafi party is unhappy because army has prevented them to send weapons and fanatics to Syria..... ya jabal if that was the case then M8 should do their best to send those salafis and fanatics to Syria, why are you stopping them? This will not only help your cause but also give them back to the Syrian regime who gifted them to us over the years.
By reading your all your comments one of two things is clear;1 - your parents learnt nothing of the 16 year civil war and carried over all this hatred to you OR 2 - they learnt but did a bad job teaching you about it, hence all the hatred. You’re probably are all in the 20 to 30 year age group which means that you where either not born during the war or were very young at the time it ended and remember very little or nothing. These comments although harmless in themselves, show that the seeds of a new conflict have been sawn and it is only a matter of time until everything explodes and a new civil war finishes off what the first one was not able to do. What a pathetic state we have reached...pity, this country held promise but was never meant to be...
@ Ado.australia, tell me, how much Australia holds Lebanese people? 100,000 ? 200.000 TOP MAX? if 30.000 are as you say scum. then it constitues at least 1/7 of the lebanese population. And didnt you see the guy in Australia that held the Hezb flag instead of the Lebanese one when he won? And one other thing, thanks for the positive response on the rest of my comment, i speak what i think is right, and March 14th isnt at all on the right path. But your dear General, ( from what i saw in your posts ) isnt better. Supporting Assad wont get us anywhere, as well as supporting the supposedly free syrian army. We must support free people from tyranny. With moral, and maybe helpful ways of support. Not weapons or denying their rights. The general and your self are so afraid of salafists, i think your a christian and maybe you should remember how for more than a thousand years we have survived and even in the civil war against all those people.
Over 140,000 were born in Lebanon. Up to 500,000 if you also include 1st and 2nd generation.
I saw the guy on naharnet, but had not heard of anything from Australian media. Anycase, who cares?
I agree that we should support free people's struggle from tyranny, but I don't believe that this is what is the agenda because it's a violent uprising not a peaceful one. They are rejecting all attempts to reform and the final result will be a less tolerant society... It's a struggle against the "shite crescent" from Iran, Iraq Syria and Lebanon that king abdullah warned of years ago. I don't want anything to do with this agenda.
So maybe General Aoun, should remember how he was implicated under code name " Raad " with the lebanese forces of Bachir Gemayel and how they managed to resist Syrians , palestinians and Salafists.
the filthy zionist media terrorists had many hallucinations but most hillarious one is that lebanese army is under-equipped thanks to syria and our glorious resistance.
i guess they pick stand up comedians in the zionist information war department.
It sounds like u all like having Al Qaeda in Lebanon. Yeah I dont want Syria or Lebanon turning into another Libya, Afghanistan or Iraq.Sorry even Hezbolloh isnt as dangerous as Al Qaeda.
