LF says attack on UNIFIL highlights scourge of illegal arms proliferation
The Lebanese Forces on Friday strongly condemned the deadly attack on a UNIFIL convoy in south Lebanon, urging the Lebanese government to “carry out a transparent and swift probe and bring the aggressor killers to justice.”
“The armed attack on a UNIFIL vehicle is a dangerous indication that confirms what’s already confirmed regarding the proliferation of arms outside Lebanese legitimacy,” the LF said in a statement.
It added that the incident was a “blatant violation of U.N. resolution 1701, which contradicts with Lebanon’s higher strategic interests and harms the state’s sovereignty and general stability.”
“The presence of the UNIFIL forces is a national need that requires applause and keenness on their role, not firing at them and addressing political and security messages through attacking them,” the LF said.
“Based on this, we call on the Lebanese government and the legitimate security forces to be strict in the process of extending sovereignty and to be keen on preventing the spread of the scourge of illegitimacy and militia chaos,” the party added.

Unbelievable how weak LF has become. What nation accept a criminal militia created, funded, armed and indoctrinated by a terrorist nation to run our country? Just the fact it was allowed in elections after admitting it had 100,000 Basij paid by Iran is a travesty to justice. Have we lost all our dignity and will to liberate our country and save our culture? What respectable country allow a armed militia operating as a foreign legion of a terrorist country? Any politician not calling for immediate disarmament of Hizbollah is committing treason. If majority Shia want Hizbollah, time to divide Lebanon so they can have their Hizbollahstan. Enough misery, humiliation, poverty, and losing our soul and identity!
