Franjieh says his candidacy not obstructing presidential vote
Marada Movement chief Suleiman Franjieh on Friday announced that his presidential nomination is “not obstructing the presidential juncture,” contrary to “what some are promoting.”
“We would support any settlement that would be in Lebanon’s interest, but every settlement needs two parties that would engage in dialogue to reach common denominators,” Franjieh added.
“The constitution was laid out in a wise manner and conformity to the National Pact requires that each sect be represented. Accordingly, a president elected with 65 votes in the presence of 86 MPs would be a legitimate president who conforms to the National Pact,” Franjieh went on to say.
“We have not yet nominated ourselves for the presidency, but our name is proposed and our intention toward our country is sound,” the Marada chief added.
“We have an economic, political and social vision that is built on realism and saying the truth no matter how painful,” Franjieh said.
Separately, the Marada chief said “protecting Christians begins through strengthening their belonging to the country, not through entangling them in partitioning schemes and scaring them of their partners in the country.”

“We have an economic, political and social vision that is built on realism and saying the truth no matter how painful,” So where is your manifesto with your political and economic policy outlined telling us exactly how you'd go about achieving it.
Mr. Franjieh, please stop insulting our intelligence. Either declare your candidacy whether you have the votes or not, and layout your political and economic vision so all can see, or stop this charade.

Christians are not an endangered species and do not need protection. Christians fought the whole western and eastern world in 1975 and resisted and put a redline to the invaders and had won the war was it not for that lunatic Aoun. That was true Lebanese resistance by the way. We dont want to live with shias. Shias elect hezballah and amal. We want partition. We dont want to spend the next 100 years in their culture of war and death and useless martyrdom and fighting other peoples causes. Partition please.

You don't want the shia culture of "war and death" yet you praise the maronite culture of war and death during the civil war when you raped women in the most brutal ways and commited massacre after massacre against civilians of all communities, including other maronites. You call that true lebanese resistance? It was neither lebanese nor resistance. It was terrorism and satanism. Shia are the majority sect in Lebanon whether you want to or not. The South, Baalbek, Beqaa, Southern Beirut, the shia are everywhere. There will be no partition. If you don't like Lebanon then do what most maronite fake patriots already did and leave Lebanon.
