Geagea says Hezbollah real reason behind crisis

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea has said that the reality of the crisis is the existence of an "illegal armed organization," usurping the strategic decision of the state.

"The last example is what we witnessed in the south last week," he added.

Geagea went on to say that this armed group had allied with the most corrupts, hoping that the Saudi-Iranian reconciliation would dissolve all the illegal armed groups from Yemen to Lebanon.

"What the free Lebanese from different sects and regions support is to gain back our sovereign, free and diverse country, and to restore its pioneering position among nations," Geagea said.

Geagea told reporters aboard his private jet, "If Hezbollah wasn't afraid of true democracy, given that Shiites are more than half of all Lebanese, and thus disenfranchised by Article 24 of our Constitution which reserves half of parliamentary seats to we Christians, Lebanon would have a stable foundation and a wonderful future."

LF should prepare for significant regional and international changes. Saudi is in the big league now, working as any nation in this league for sole benefit of its people & interests. Changes can happen quickly. Past international relations or friendships have no impact on new decisions. Just look how Saudi TVs suddenly stopped reporting on Iran demonstrations, practically abandoning them to the Basij, Similar changes are to be expected. Further, Saudi new role seems to unify Islamic nations & create a new influential bloc to benefit from US/Russian/China quagmire instead of being consumed by it. Smart move and beneficial to Saudis & Muslims, but could have negative impacts on LF. LF, despite its weak leadership and lack of strategic vision or effective action plan; remains most loyal to Cedar Revolution principles and best hope to connect with diaspora. First objective is freeing Lebanon from Hizbollah cancer and political mafia.

The new changes in Saudi & Gulf nations, can be beneficial to Lebanon if we understand how to adjust and adapt. We will always be grateful for Saudi, UAE, Kuwait & others for welcoming and providing tens of thousands of dignified job to Lebanese; as well as providing generous financial support in the past. These nations are embarking on massive modernization program. Transition from oil based economy to industrial, services and technological advanced and innovative economy. They will be welcoming technical and innovative skills for years to come and Lebanese are a good candidate assuming we can resurrect our dying education system. They also need managerial, financial, media and art skills that we excel in. So we should plan for a mutually beneficial cooperation and honest reward for good work. As IIT in India provided the skills for Silicon Valley and dominated its executives, so bright Lebanese minds can contribute to Gulf nations protected with Golden visas
