French special presidential envoy for Lebanon Jean-Yves Le Drian has met in Jeddah with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, a day after representatives of France, Saudi Arabia, the U.S., Qatar and Egypt met in Doha to discuss the Lebanese file.

A statement carried by Saudi news agency SPA said the conferees discussed “the bilateral ties between the kingdom and France, means to intensify joint coordination in several fields, and the latest developments of the Lebanese file.”

In a statement issued after the Doha meeting, the five-nation group on Lebanon had threatened “measures” against the Lebanese parties who are “blocking progress” in the stalled presidential election file, calling for a new president who “embodies integrity, unites the nation, puts the interests of the country first, prioritizes the well-being of its citizens, and forms a broad and inclusive coalition to implement essential economic reforms.”

Would France's "threatened measures" will do for Berri what Hezbollah's measures did for Hariri?

Solution to Lebanon crisis must solve 2 issues:
1. Hizbollah Iranian model incompatible with Lebanon’s democracy, open economy, freedom, critical thinking & free media. Not compatible with our culture & traditions.
2. Economic recovery impossible with Hizb arms causing political risks, exodus of Western firms, crippling interest rates, dried investments and mushrooming debt
Solution: separate Hizbollahstan from free Lebanon. Borders already defined from south of Sida to Nabatie & Bekaa. Hizb will have own Iranian-style country, army, border with Syria & mountains to dig military tunnels. Rest of Lebanon with diaspora help will quickly regain its Switzerland role, rediscover democracy and eliminate confessional at all levels. All key to reform & replacing political mafia/zuamas with honest and competent leaders. No position will be assigned to religion, even Shia, Druze or Alawi can become president of Free Lebanon once true democracy and freedom are enshrined in new constitution.
