Report: Agreement to avoid wide war likely reached
An agreement to avoid a broad war in the region has likely been reached and the alternative might be a limited response against Israel by Iran and its allies or maybe no response at all, informed sources said.
The Lebanese file will also be separated from the rest of the axis while confrontations will increase on the border with Israel without breaking the rules of engagement, the sources told Kuwait’s al-Anbaa newspaper said.
“One of the agreement’s elements is related to the oil facilities in Syria and to upping U.S. pressures on Israel to accept a ceasefire in Gaza,” the daily added.
In this regard, a Western diplomatic source said “Washington has made great progress in bridging the gaps in the issue of the agreement over a ceasefire in Gaza, which would represent the gateway for preventing war in the region.”
