Israeli general says 'determined' to change security situation on Lebanon border

Israeli forces in the northern region are continuing their offensive and defensive exercises, the Israeli army said on Wednesday.

“This week, two brigade exercises were completed for readiness for the northern border by the forces of the 179th Brigade and the 769th Brigade,” the army said.

“The troops practiced scenarios simulating maneuvering in enemy territory, scenarios of evacuating the wounded from the battlefield under fire, the work of the various headquarters, and the defense of the northern sector,” the Israeli army added.

Northern Command chief Uri Gordin meanwjole said: "The mission is clear -- we are determined to change the security situation as soon as possible. The commitment of the commanders and the forces here is complete, with peak readiness for any task they will be required to do."
