The Lebanese army on Sunday arrested a group of Syrian gunmen who had entered Lebanese territory via the border town of al-Qaa, seizing a car and a large cache of weapons, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported.

“After the crackdown on the Syrian town of Qusayr intensified, the Lebanese army managed to arrest 33 gunmen who had entered the Lebanese area of al-Qaa Projects and were on their way to Ablah,” in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, Radio Voice of Lebanon (93.3) said.

NNA also said several Syrian families fled to neighboring Lebanese towns.

As Syrian rebel fighters pulled out on Thursday from the battered Homs neighborhood of Baba Amr in the face of the regime's overwhelmingly superior fire power, loyalist forces pressed on with a crackdown on other Homs districts, forcing a lot of the central province’s resident to flee to neighboring Lebanon.

On February 29, twenty-two Syrian families arrived in Lebanon after fleeing Baba Amr.

They should not have entered Lebanon with their arms. They should have surrendered their arms upon entry to Lebanese authorities and have they done so then they should be allowed to stay as refugee. We do not want Lebanon to become open ground for Syria's armed groups, we have enough problems already. The article did not mentioned delivering them back anyways, so this is only a hypothesis.

Hizballah is syrian, and the lebanese army is syrian and the governement is syrian. What the hell are you hoping for? Only very few individuals are lebanese in Lebanon.

Very smart Tony. They lost their homes, but managed to bring cache of weapons. Yep, this what I usually do when I am fleeing the tornadoes in America.
