Islamic Jihad Member Says Hizbullah Providing Quds Brigades with ‘Significant Help’

The Quds Brigades are receiving significant help from Hizbullah, a member of the group's armed wing the Quds Brigades has told Agence France Presse in an interview.
“Hizbullah provides fundamental support” to the Quds Brigades, particularly by "facilitating the training of fighters," a member of the armed wing, who goes by the nom de guerre Abu Ibrahim said.
He warned that the Gaza-based militant group Islamic Jihad has weapons that can reach Tel Aviv.
The Quds Brigades fired most of the rockets that hit Israel in the past week's four-day conflict between Gaza militants and the Jewish state.
Abu Ibrahim said the group was ready to expand the reach of its rocket fire beyond the Israeli town of Ashdod, which lies some 35 kilometers outside Gaza.
"If the occupation targets any leader of any Palestinian group whatsoever or any citizen, the Brigades will respond with force and expand the reach of the response beyond Ashdod," he told AFP.
"The enemy is aware of the range that the Brigades rockets can reach," he said, adding that the Quds Brigades possessed "many thousands" of rockets.
Islamic Jihad took the lead in attacking Israel during the recent confrontation, which began on March 9 with Israel's assassination of the commander of the Popular Resistance Committees militant group.
By the time a truce was announced on Tuesday, 25 Palestinians had been killed -- many of them from Islamic Jihad -- and at least 250 rockets had been fired into Israel, around 180 of them launched by the group.
Some rockets landed nearly 40 kilometers inside Israel, not far from the outskirts of Tel Aviv.
A lone rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel during the first 12 hours of Friday, the Israeli military said, as the fledgling truce firmed up.
Abu Ibrahim said the Quds Brigades have "developed long-range rockets and if the aggression returns, they could be used to reach towns far beyond Ashdod."
Another Quds Brigades member, who spoke to AFP on condition of anonymity, said "certain resistance groups, including the Quds Brigades, have Fajr-3 and Fajr-5 missiles, with a range of 60-110 kilometers."
"But they are not for use unless Israel targets an important figure," he said.
He also claimed that Gaza militants possessed SAM-7 missiles which he said had been fired at Israeli helicopters last year.

Hezbollah is trying to buy in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in any way they can to preserve their ass. Fortunately, the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon won't fall for that at all. Should anything escalate between the Hezbollah-Amal against the Sunni community in Lebanon, the refugee camps will go wild and give a taste of blood to the Iranian hand in Lebanon. Hezbollah is a terrorist faction, nothing less. The Palestinians might be armed as well but they are refugees... Contained in open air prisons such as Ain el Helweh. They should be sent back to the west bank and Gaza but until that day, they are a deterrent.

Geha. My interpretaion of the naher bared incident is... When nassrallah spoke of a red line, it was because of the obvious attempt at sectarian war. Fateh el Islam is a salafist, financially backed by the Saudis. I think that it was an attempt to avert the sectarian tension within the Muslim community. Maybe I'm wrong, but at the end of the day, these terrorist were rooted out. Just as every non Lebanese militia should be. Every inch of Lebanese territory should be controlled by the Lebanese army.
I as a Christian Lebanese, want only the state of Lebanese to control all arms in Lebanon. But to do so means to build trust and support our fellow southern brothers and sisters who have sufered greatly at the neglect of the central beirut government for years.
It's now our responsiblity to build trust and show loyalty with our brethren, if we have any chance of building our state. Hezbollah is powerfull and orgainized and we should take advantage of their achievements.

2-He caused the 2006 war for no convincing reason - All Lebanon suffered.
3-He refused to hand his arms to Army while the rest already did so in 1990.
4-He is accused of committing assasination on behalf of the Syrians
5-For Its own self preservation and not in defense of country of community) - He turned his weapons against his fellow lebanese - and invaded Beirut and Chouf.
6-He practically made a coup d'etat by putting a gun on Jumblat's head, and seized power by force even though M14 won the 2009 election fair and square.
