Mazloum Denies Postponement of Maronite Meeting Linked to al-Rahi and LF Spat
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةBishop Samir Mazloum has denied that a conference of Maronite MPs that was set to be held in Bkirki next month was postponed to avoid a meeting between Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi and Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea.
In remarks to Akhbar Alyawm news agency on Monday, Mazloum stressed that the April 3 meeting was postponed after the committee tasked with drafting a law on the parliamentary elections failed to complete its mission.
Al-Rahi sees the campaigns launched against him in a “democratic way whereby each side is free to express its opinion,” the bishop said.
The patriarch expresses his vision on the future and it’s up to them to like what he says or not, Mazloum stressed and reiterated that al-Rahi is working based on the known principles of Bkirki.
“With all due respect, it’s not up to politicians to decide what direction Bkirki is taking,” he told the news agency.
His remarks came after sources told pan-Arab daily al-Hayat on Monday that Lebanese Forces MPs were mulling to boycott the meeting of Maronite lawmakers over their dispute with al-Rahi on his controversial statements.
Al-Rahi accused Geagea this month of misinterpreting his statements on the Syrian crisis.
The patriarch on several occasions announced his concerns over the Christians in the region amid the ongoing crises and expressed fears that the violence in the Arab world could turn the Arab Spring into an Arab winter.
Mazloum stressed and reiterated that al-Rahi is working based on the known principles of Bkirki.
what rahi is saying is in total contradiction with the declared principles of Bkirki actually! where does it say what he is saying?
let him explain it to s mere mortals.
apparently they all come from the same liar school :)
Protecting the Oriental Christians is the most important role of Bkerkeh. We saw what happened in Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. Saying the truth regardless of Geagea dreams of becoming president is the duty of any Christian moreover their leader. Bkerkeh always criticized massacres and it still is, thus the Patriarch is calling for a political solution that stops war and violence, is this against Bkerkeh principles?!
He also said :
With all due respect, it’s not up to politicians to decide what direction Bkirki is taking.
So it's not up to Geagea or geha to decide what are the principles of Bkirki.
The patriach (El Rahi or Sfeir before him) doesnt have to give an account for anybody ... Geagea, Aoun, geha ...
It is really a sad day for LF and the daughters and sun of Beshir when their supposed leader praise the Salafis and the Takfiris but criticize Bkerkeh for saying the truth: “The Syrian regime is a dictatorship but it’s the least dictatorial in the region” just look at the gulf: kings, princes and Sheikhs come on!!!
And what if Geagea doesn’t attend the meeting; his last positions are a dishonor for any Lebanese Christian he does not deserve to step on Kesrwan holly land. This is a man who lives in Kesrwan, he built his castle on a land belonging to Bkerkeh using money he stole form Christians but still he misuses the Kesrwany hospitality and criticize in the most impolite way the head of our church and thus all of us. Let him go do that from Becharreh and not from our regions, The Kesrwan people already told him twice we don’t like shouuuuu

Article worth reading, I think Mr. President Jaja the last thing for him is the welfare of Christians in this region.
the days are coming ahead and they will show us who is right :) talk as much as you want nw, and somme day you will understand what I am saying in these posts.
I wish people just don't repeat like parrots what they hear other politicians are saying... use the thing on your shoulders and try to analyse how the leader of the LF is trying to balance the irresponsible declarations of the Patriarch vis a vis the Sunni in a sea of Sunnis.
