Army Seizes Israeli-Made Food Products in Tariq al-Jedideh Warehouses

The Lebanese army announced in a statement on Friday that it raided a two warehouses in the Beirut neighborhood of Tariq al-Jedideh where it uncovered some five tons of spoiled food.
It also uncovered Israeli-made products whose source of manufacture was covered up.
Three individuals suspected of being linked to the facility have been arrested, it stated.
The raid, carried out in collaboration with the Consumer Protection Directorate, uncovered five tons of weight loss products, large quantities of baby milk that has been imported from abroad, and various Lebanese-made products, such as oils and vinegars.
The statement noted that all the discovered foodstuff had exceeded their expiry date.
The army also seized a machine used for forging expiry dates.
Voice of Lebanon radio later reported that a third warehouse, belonging to the same suspects, was also discovered in Tariq al-Jedideh.
This one contained 40 tons of milk and spoiled food products.
Later on Friday, a large quantity of spoiled poultry was found dumped in a garbage dumpster in al-Dekwaneh area.
The head of the Dekwaneh municipality Antoine Shakhtoura told Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) that the concerned sides have arrested whoever threw the spoiled food, revealing that he is the owner of a restaurant in the area.
He said that a “sizeable” amount of poultry was discovered, demanding that the restaurant be shut down.
These are the latest incidents in the spoiled food scandal that has emerged in Lebanon in recent weeks that has caused a “food safety” crisis in the country.
The Consumer Protection Directorate raided several warehouses in al-Fanar, Beirut’s southern suburbs, Tyre, and Marjayoun that were selling spoiled meat and food products.
The seized products included poultry, meat, canned food, cheese and several other consumer products.
The Directorate had raided another Tariq al-Jadideh warehouse last week where it seized 25 tons of spoiled meat and arrested its two owners, Samih and Suleiman al-Natour.
The Internal Security Forces detained at least eight other people for food safety violations in separate raids.

You may enjoy Lebanese Cuisine and Arak Zahlawi.
But Lebanese cannot but feel guilt if they buy Israeli product.
You see none of the Made In Lebanon product can possibly ends up financing an attack on Israel (you can agree that Iranian Oil money plays that part)
But Israeli products sold would eventually end up helping finance the Israeli army that in turn bombs Lebanon. So if a Lebanese buys that product, he would be, in a way, contributing to crimes against himself and fellow lebanese.
By the way, i still haven't watched Schindler's list because the Director pledged to donate its profits to help Israeli settlements.

Within an hour Israel unleashed Air force and Artillary barrages on douzen of southern villages, and started a war. Result total Lebanese killed = 1306 civilians, 132 Hizbullah, 21 Lebanese Soldiers, and most of Lebanon Destroyed (from precision bombing that targeted residential bldg, Ambulance cars, and shelters). In comnparison only 12 Isreali civilians dead, and 142 Israeli soldiers dead, and only a couple of building and electricty poles were damaged (from the 4,000 puny unguided 20 kg rockets that landed mostly in empty fields).

I read it that when German Nazi Army used to be ambushed by hostile elements and a number of its soldiers die, the SS would go to nearby villages, round up 10 civilians for each soldier killed, and shoot them in the village square as a punishment and warning to others.
Of course Israel's tactic is not so blatant and much safer than the SS - Israel prefer to bombs the nearby villages from above, or shells them from a distance. Nevertheless, the result (10 Lebanese civilian should die for each Israeli soldier killed) amazingly holds true in every confrontation with Israel.
This Nazi practice was widely condemned, but now Israel is using it with impunity - how times have changed to the worst.

You know the UN Charter of Human Rights states that people who were forced into leaving their country - have the right to return.
