A safe belonging to late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat has been found in Lebanon, media reports said.

A civilian found the safe in a piece of land behind the Golden Plaza Hotel in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

The piece of land was used by Fatah as a military training ground, while the hotel served as Arafat’s residence in the 1980s.

The safe stands at a height of two meters, width of one, and weight of seven and a half tons.

It was taken to the Baabda Serail to be opened and inspected.

The National News Agency reported on Monday that the safe was opened using a special saw after being carefully inspected.

The safe was empty.

Al-Jadeed television had reported security sources as saying that the safe might have contained valuable information Arafat had wanted to safeguard after his headquarters was destroyed.

This safe belongs to Suhaa Arafat.
And here comes the true story for the reason Palestinian are in misery.
If their leaders took Millions of dollars as bribe money Bakshish and commissions from any deal.
Ask Mr Abu Mazen who is supplier of cement building settlements in west bank.
Or Ask Mr Dahlan who is Mr. 15 percent from the incoming energy to Gaza and West Bank.
Corruption was always part of their behavior.
Money which could help to the benefit of local Palestinians found its way to their leader's pocket.

Mowaten: If there were no Jewish immigrants at Palestine the Arabs would have still slept in tents or caves with their sheep.
You should study history not the incitement they plant in your brain every Friday in your mosques.

as civil wars kick off all around, why worry as many start killing each other in ever greater #s throughout the muslim world? islam has the death penalty, israel has the defence penalty. It’s tikun olam time soon. hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. tikun olam has a double meaning: repair the world & prevent harm from continuing. the islamic winter will spread to lebanon, jordan, ksa, nigeria, sudan & iran. now you have iraq, iraq2 = syria & many more will follow their lead. maybe we'll invent palestine next generation. "inshallah!"

Welcome to your Islamic winter. Allah is proud of all of you and his religion of peace http://thereligionofpeace.com/

The safe was empty? It is more realistic to say: it was emptied and then it became empty. Soon, we shall see a few with limited means start buying expensive real estate and fancy property. YA FRIGGIN 3EIN. 7amiha 7aramiha

That's were he kept his Wilkinson Sword. But he lost the combination to the safe, the rest is history.

So, Benzoma, two wrongs make it one right, huh? Arafat was one of the worst things to ever happen to Lebanon or to the palestinians for that matter. Imagine what a Ghandi-style freedom fighter could have achieved instead of the Arafat-antics

Thumb primesuspect 28 March 2012, 12:00

The worst thing ever that happened to Lebanon wasn't Arafat. It was the temporary Palestinian exile that became long term.

"There is no up-rise in Syria, it is simply a few gangs"
"Jumblat is still part of the majority"
the list is long... I love these things. enjoy you day people. life is short.
