A 22-year-old Lebanese man was killed in Carabobo state in Venezuela during an attempted robbery, which angered the residents of the Baysour area in Lebanon on Saturday who demanded that the government to launch an immediate investigation in the case.

The Lebanese government “should follow up on the crime to punish those who are guilty and bring them to justice in order to protect our expatriate children,” the residents of Baysour said.

Jawad Walid al-Aridi was killed while thieves were trying to rob him in Carabobo state.

Lebanese Ambassador to Venezuela Charbel Wehbe informed Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour that the Venezuelan authorities identified the killer of al-Aridi.

Wehbe attributed the murder to the security chaos in the country.

Mansour earlier contacted Wehbe to inquire about the case and launch a swift probe concerning the murder.

“We are waiting for any new information provided by Wehbe,” Mansour told the National News Agency.

If we want others to investigate when lebanese are killed abroad, then why dont we do the same when foreigners are killed in lebanon? ie those who come from poor countries. If the white man or a rich arab is slightly harmed then all of a sudden we have a police force but when poor people are murdered, tortured, raped then nobody cares or does anything.

"Jawad Walid al-Aridi, 22, was killed while thieves were trying to steal him in Carabobo state."

it should be ".... while theives were trying to ROB him in Carabobo state".

THINGS are stolen.
PEOPLE are ROBBED of things.

If you care so much about ex-pats, give them the right to vote in 2013. Oh wait, I forgot the M8 pick and choose hypocrisy.

Lets pretend we care Mr. Mansour. Armed thugs are killing and kidnapping innocent citizens every day and no one cares. Hundreds of Lebanese are dying in Syrian jails and you kiss their hand every week..... go fly a kite Mr. Foreign Minister.
