Industry News: Lack of Arabic Mobile Applications Seen as Business Opportunity
Juniper Research has released its latest report on consumer app downloads to mobile devices and has reported a 16% rise in Arabic mobile applications in the United States alone, despite the slow rise in Arabic mobile application availability.
According to the report, the rise in application downloads responds to the rising interest in Arabic language and society globally.
The report entitled ‘Mobile Apps Stores: Future Business Models & Ecosystem Analysis 2012-2016,’ shows that consumer app downloads are expected to reach more than 87 billion per annum by 2016.
The report also highlighted that nearly 87% of apps will be downloaded free of charge, but publishers can generate revenue through content subscription and virtual item sales.
