Asiri Says Riyadh 'Closely Following Developments' in Lebanon
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةSaudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awadh Asiri on Monday noted that the kingdom “is closely following the developments” in Lebanon, adding that Riyadh would only issue a travel warning should it feel that its citizens are in possible danger.
“Should we feel that our citizens are in danger, we will take the right decision, but right now we are closely following the developments,” Asiri told reporters following talks with Prime Minister Najib Miqati at the Grand Serail.
“What’s important for the kingdom is civil peace in Lebanon,” the Saudi diplomat said, stressing the “importance of closing ranks in dealing with the developments.”
Kuwait earlier on Monday urged its citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon and also asked those already present in the country to leave after deadly clashes linked to the Syrian conflict left two people killed in Beirut.
The foreign ministry called on Kuwaitis to cancel travel plans to Lebanon "due to developments in the tense security situation."
Kuwait's move follows a similar decision on Saturday by its Gulf partners the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain.
The same can be said about Hizb....they are a terrorist group assisting the Syrian regime in killing innocent Syrian cycilians...10,000 and counting...There is double standards when Hizb is happy to support a revolution in Bahrain but a revolution in Syria is out of the question....Not everyone who doesn't agree with you all of a sudden is a Wahabist....Your comments are just inflammatory and one sided....No one in Lebanon has the moral high ground...Instead of pitching battles against eachother, we should just learn to accept our differences....
Your hilarious mfawaz....And Iran is not paying for anything right?....Assad is a dictator...they had to change the Syrian constitution to reinstate him after his dad....The Syrian protest were peaceful until the government started killing and torturing it's own civilians.....Assad has offered no real reform.....The minority runs the country....Although the same can be said in Bahrain, the government there has NOT killed 10,000 people.....The Bahrain protests are not peaceful....You choose to have selective reasoning when it serves your cause.....Stop always blaming America for everything, we Arabs are much worse enemies to ourselves....
Forget Syria, S.A, Iran, ... forget them all. The problem lies within us Lebanese. We worship corrupt leaders, we sell our country for favoritism of ones sect, we have foreign loyalties to every land under the sun but not much for our own. When we learn to love each other, live within the law and under the constitution. When we care about what is righteous and not what is expedient and beneficial to my clan or sect then we can build a nation.
