Syrian Priest in Zahle Hospital after Suffering Gunshot Injury Near Border

NNA said Father Elia Mikhael Jreij, 33, was admitted to Tal Shiha hospital in Zahle to treat the gunshot wound in his left leg.
The priest was riding a Kia Rio along with the head of the St. Morqos monastery in Rable, Samer Farah, when armed clashes occurred in al-Qusair between the Syrian soldiers and the rebels.
Al-Qusair, a town southwest of the flashpoint city of Homs, is close to the Lebanese al-Qaa region in northeastern Lebanon.
Homs is an opposition stronghold where the Syrian government has been waging a brutal offensive for the past months.
